Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy and Lucy Sports Play

Lucy and Twiggy

“Dad threw the soccer ball out here.”

“I see that. What do you want to do with it?”

“Gee, I don’t know. Maybe chase it?”

“Sounds like work.”

“Nice kick. Now we need to go get it.”

“You go ahead. Kick it back to me.”

“Um. You sure you want to play?”

“I’m just turning my back to give a degree of difficulty.”

“As you can see, it’s still there.”

“Yeah. I don’t think it is self-propelled. The last one to the chaise is a dirty dog.”

“Ha, you need to take a bath.”

“Sush not so loud. Mom might hear you.”

“Now isn’t this much nicer than getting sweaty chasing a ball?”

“You’ll get no argument from me.”

“Ahhhh. Love the shade.”

“And the chaise.”

“Wait. Did you hear that?”

“You mean the sound of falling kibble.”

“Okay, so the soccer game wasn’t happening.”

“But the roar of the kibble is certainly worth paying attention to. Why is this door still closed.? Give a whine, Twiggy. That usually gets results.”

  1. It sounds hot there. No one seems to want to run and play. 🙂 — Suzanne

    1. It was relativel cool. These two had just done a run around the yard and so when it came time to take photos they decided to take a rest. Thanks, Suzanne.

    1. No it is actually cool. I have a video of them racing around the yard but when it came time for the photos they were ready for a rest. Alfred Hitchcock when accused of saying actors are cattle, corrected the accuser. “I never said actors are cattle. I said actors should be treated like cattle.”

  12. I know from experience that a dog might be deaf as a post, but when he hears the rattling sound of food, he comes running! These two are too cute — have you invested yet in one of those toys that moves of its own volition? Bet they’d have something to say over that!

    1. I’ve seen those but no. We still have the old fashioned kind that just sit until activated. 😁

  13. My dad’s neighbors used to come running when they’d hear him pop the lid off a beer bottle, even if he was standing inside, next to the refrigerator. Sensitive, those guys — sort of like the girls.

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Twiggy is a little over two years so she is fully grown right now. Lucy is twelve. Thanks, Jennie.

      1. Why did I think that Twiggy would grow to be the size of Lucy and dear Bailey? Well, we were Lab lovers (still are), and we brought in a new pup when our dog was much older. Wonderful years.
