Want to want is the opposite of need to need. With that introduction, it is Stream of Conscious Saturday, and here is Linda Hill to explain this week’s prompt. “Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “want.” Make the word “want” the first, second, or third word of your post. Have fun!”
So now you know that I choose using want as the first and third word to start the post. I am saving my bonus points for a Bentley Continental V8, so you know I have to work especially hard. Here’s a photo to help you see what I am shooting to achieve.
If you would like to save up points to get what you want, visit Linda’s blog and read how.

“So please explain what the heck you were talking about when you said, ‘Want to want is the opposite of need to need.”‘
“When did I say that?”
“Up top at the beginning of this post.”
“Oh, that. I believe need and want are two different things.”
“Okay, please explain.”
“When you need something, it is more or less vital.”
“and?”
“When you want something, it is a desire but not a matter of life or death.”
“Explain the want to and need to stuff.”
“We all can choose to want something. I call that want to want.”
“Then need to need is more like an emergency.”
“No, it is still a choice. Take eating, for instance. If you don’t need to need food, you could starve. We all need food to live, but if a person denies that need, then there is trouble.”
“Way over my head for sure. Where do you come up with this stuff?”
“I’m a writer, remember.”
“Doesn’t mean you need to go off the deep end. So that Bentley is in the want department?”
“Yeah, I think you’ve got it.”
“So, if you don’t get it, you won’t die?”
“I think we could safely. say If I don’t get it, I will need to want to die.”
“We need some drinks. A whole lot of drinks.”
“Why’s that?”
“To quote Jack Nicholson in the movie “Terms of Endearment.”‘
“Don’t say it.”
“To kill that bug you have up your ass.”
That is an odd phrase. Makes sense though.

Yes, odd indeed. Thanks, Charles.

Sooo, I read your dialogue (brilliant as always) and then sat here wondering if I “want to want” anything. Can’t think of a thing…but I want to stop thinking about it. Now, look what you’ve done, John. I need to stop wanting to figure this out. 😀

Well played, Gwen! I want to top it, but I need more caffeine first.

Does take coffee for sure.

You may want to stop figuring it out Gwen, but when you get to the point that your need to want to want to figure it out, you just might. 😁

It was one I enjoyed singing on the way home from work after talking to my boss about my hairbrained ideas.

I have almost as many bonus points as you, John. If we combined them, do you think we could get the car? You could drive it when you want, as long as I didn’t need it for a special occasion. I’m sure we could work out the details.
Nice job. I hope your needs are being met and you have the weekend you want to have.
Take care.

I think we could work out a deal. It might be best to do a six months here, six months there arrangement. Have a great weekend of satisfied wants. 😊

How good is it in the snow?

Real good unless you get on it. It accelerates 0 to 60 in 4.2 seconds, so you can expect a little tail whip if you do. It is rear wheel drive but heavy like a tank.

I’ve heard and met many with a stick up their ass, but since I never saw that movie – this is the first time I’ve heard about the bug!! But, then again, Nicholson can pull off any line!

No one needs a Bentley – but a 47′ International Harvester pickup in restore-able condition, now that is another matter entirely.

I love the scene in Terms of Endearment when Jack takes Shirley (forget their names in the movie) out on their first date in his convertible with the top down and her wig gets all crazy!

We have become a society that needs to want, haven’t we? If nothing else changes from this crazy situation, let this realisation that our wants and needs have parted ways somewhat. Not a bad thing.
Always a fun read and that was such a good movie. Perfect video to cap it off!

Love that movie and Jack Nicholson! He is a character that you never forget. This little snippet makes me want to watch it again. Great use of the prompt, John, and hey, it never hurts to “want” the Bentley. Remember the Law of Attraction. 🙂 Have a great Saturday!

One Bentley Austin on the way to you…I don’t need to do this but I want to do this…is that the idea? HopeI you like the color, chartreuse…I love it, and maybe you’ll let me take it for a ‘spin’ occasionally…

Yeah, chartreuse is fine.. I’ll be on the lookout. Thanks, Billy Ray.

Nice set of wheels! I’m sure by now you must be close to achieving your ‘want’ and you’ll be puttering down the highway, attracting the attention of the men in blue in no time! Best of luck!

Nice thing about a Bentley the police envision someone who can afford a lot of lawyers.
