Views of the Neighborhood – Mailbox Holder Decorations

This is another view of some of the decorations that have been placed on top of mailbox holders. It hardly seems possible that I did a post over a year ago about the mailbox decorations here in Lakeway. This tour has some different ones from the last. If you missed the last one, HERE is a link. I hope you enjoy our stroll today.

I would call this one Jerimiah.

This is a metal plant. I like the turquoise color.

A pot with some petunias.

A peacock, of course.

Kind of a sad raccoon.

A happy fawn.

This looks to be the bluebird of bitterness.

Here is a symbol of good luck. I hope you have a great week.

    Good pictures, John. Once in the U.S. where we were living one of the teenagers from the neighborhood took one of those carved good luck pieces from outside someone’s home and threw it in our yard. When we found out who it belonged to we returned it. Kids. 🙂 — Suzanne

    Cool collection. We don’t have that stuff here. It’s either mail slots in doors or small boxes on the walls.

      This is considered a rural route. The mail people deliver from vehicles. So the boxes are at the curb.

    Has it really been a year ago?! I didn’t even think you were living there a year ago – time does fly!
    My favorite of course has to be Jeremiah! (was a bull frog, was an old friend of mine…..)

    I love the little ways people personalize these. I imagine hey are used in directions. Much easier to remember ‘happy fawn’ than ’62’ of red house.

    Great decorations, John. Thanks for sharing. 🙂 I don’t recall to have seen any like these in our neighborhood. As we don’t have a brick-and-mortar mailbox, we can’t have those. We just put different covers on.

    Great photos, John. I love the one with the frog. We used to have a picturesque mailbox, but our nearly blind 95-year-old neighbor backed into it. Now we have a typical mailbox, located far from our neighbor’s driving path. 🙂
