“Hey, Lucy, I’m just finishing breakfast. Want to play?
“Sure, Little One. I like this little squirrel.”
“I call that one, ‘My Baby.’
“Oh, I guess you don’t want us tearing it up then. How about this toy that looks like lights?”
“I’m not sure, Lucy. I’m thinking maybe a new toy.”
“Oh brother. You have maybe a hundred.”
“Yes, but sometimes there is a need for a change.”
“I would keep your voice down. I could see the Boss hitting the ceiling at the thought of a new toy.”
“Okay. I’ll do the lights. IT seems I just played with these.”
“That was yesterday. Do you want to play ‘Keep away?'”
“Can I take a rain check on that?”
“Okay. You having a problem?”
“No. I just can’t make up my mind about which toy to play with today.”
“Let me know when you are ready. I’m telling you, though, that you need to get over it.
“Yeah. I know. Maybe Flamingo.”
My goodness, even the pups struggle with the hard decisions of life! If only we humans were choosing between toys, what a different world we’d be living in. Thank you for this heartwarming photo story. 🙂

This was so sweet. I used to rotate my Dobe’s toy. I could put a toy in the closet for a day or so, then bring it out and he would be overjoyed at his ‘new find.’ These fur kids always make ya smile, don’t they?

They do, Lori. We have a couple of toys like you describe. We even have to spell their names or Twiggy gets all excited when we mention them. 😁

Twiggy does seem to have a lot of toys. How long do they tend to last?
LikeLiked by 1 person
In rotation they last at least six months. Some are over a year.

It´s tough on a dog when you can´t decide on which toy to play with. Dot has the same dilemma!! These two are so darn cute. xo

Thank you, Darlene. I think it is a universal dog problem. It is better than having to worry about the next meal though. 😊

You have to have the right toy, John. Apparently, it’s a tough decision with many variables. I hope the girls figure it out.

The expression on Lucy’s face in the next-to-last photo is priceless. It’s usually Twiggy who ‘gets’ me, but today Lucy took the prize.

Our furry friends have such rough lives. Just yesterday, it took Bond at least 5 minutes to decide where to nap for the afternoon. Guess we all live with stress.

Yes. Twiggy needs to take chill lessons from Lucy.

Haha! Refresh my memory, was Lucy much younger than Bailey? Was she like a Twiggy to Bailey? Apologies if I have asked you this before, John. The older brain has a sharp mind for the most obscure memories, like the wallpaper in the mudroom of the house we lived in, 30 years ago. Yet, it fails on many other things.

Bailey was younger than Lucy. We think Lucy is about 12 years old which makes us believe there is not a lot of time left for her 😢. She and Bailey were besties. Lucy joined us after Bailey was an adult so there was no Twiggy like behaviors. Lucy and Bailey did play together all the time. Lovely memories. Thanks, Jennie

Lazy big time. The heat you know.

104 degrees down here right now. But only 11% humidity. Makes the heat less oppressive, but it’s dang uncomfortable for the skin. I’m still adjusting to that part. But overall I like the weather here.

Ha-ha-ha, dear John! You have raised an important topic: too many toys. There is even a pesky squirrel! Maybe a dog bicycle or …some dog lego for Twiggy to develop her creative spirit? 🙂 🙂 🙂 The lights are impressive! The dog toy industry knows to surprise!

Decisions seem extra-hard these days, even for our pups. I used to rotate Dallas’s toys, keeping some tucked away until he seemed bored with the ones that were out. Then, when I’d bring out one of the “old” ones, he’d get all excited, as if he was welcoming an old friend. Probably the reason human brains are bigger is so we’ll make the tough choices for our fur-kids!

We do the same with some super favorites. Twiggy is crazy about a toy names W-a-t-e-r-m-e-l-o-n. Yes we have to spell it or she goes crazy.
