If you read my Friday post, you know that the pandemic is making Views harder to come by. So now I’m doing my best. I thought I use the theme of signs. Also, there is a video of the title song at the end. Hope you enjoy the walk.
Sign of needing to move.
Sign of wanting to play.
Sign of patriotism.
Sign of helping others.
Sign of the times.
Sign of hope for some.
Sign of something new.
Sign of a carefree day.
Sign of protection.
Sign of a message worth repeating.
Sign of safety.
Sign of commerce.
Sign of conservation.
Well, that’s it. Enjoy the video and help yourself to an ice-cold water. You must be parched. Good thing, it is cooler today. Only 93 degrees.
I always loved that song! We need to pay attention to some signs though. Stay safe!

Your signs brought a chuckle and a confession. I always social distance and wear a mask in public. At our local mega Walmart, there are feet prints in the aisle like one of your photos. I’m conscious of people and they go ANY which way in Walmart. My hubby is conscious of feet prints. Invariably we loose each other if we shop together, cuz he follows feet prints, and I follow people. He’s forever telling me I’m going the wrong way — and my explanation never works. 😀

I can see you trying to explain your “people” method. Not surprisd it doesn’t work. Thanks for sharing, Gwen. Have a super day. 😁

If you were in my neighborhood, you might have noticed another little sign on a potted cactus that’s being rolled around from place to place. It says, “Please do not steal me. I’m just trying to get more sunshine!” If I’m lucky, it will bloom again. I discovered my patio was too dark, and developing my ‘system.’ After a week in sunshine, I believe I see the beginning of a bud.

What a great idea, Linda. Shade is not the cactus’s friend. 😁

A classic sign.
Let’s hope this added insistence on wearing masks and social distancing will finally get this thing under control. We are now obliged to wear maks everywhere (about bloody time)…
Have a fabulous Sunday!

Nice collection of signs, John! We have a sign in our yard advertising our new roof…lol! Not our idea, but the company did a fantastic job, so we’re letting it stay until the HOA says it has to go. Have a peaceful Sunday.

In our old neighborhood at the coast that sign would have lasted maybe 10 minutes. Thanks for the peaceful wish. I hope you have a peaceful Sunday as well. Stay safe. 😊

Such a clever walk about, John. Mandatory mask signs are becoming more prevalent here in Florida, too. Better late than never, I suppose. Sigh… Have a peaceful Sunday!

Sometimes a sign can be annoying which makes me sigh and shake my head. Other signs give me pause to think. Due to the Covid-19, there are so many signs, I feel our community and stores have begun to have a cluttered look.
I fondly remember the signs along Route 66, especially the Burma shave ones. Do they still make Burma shave?
Thanks, John for another thought-provoking entry.

The Burma-Shave brand was reintroduced in 1997 by American Safty Razor Co. It is available on Amazon. Not sure about in stores. There are also replicate signs on Route 66. Thank you for the comment, Karen.

I remember that song, very well, John. Signs are interesting. I remember one of my doctors whose office waiting room must have had 50 signs. They covered everything from mandatory forms to cell phone usage. I think the best is “Children at Play”.

I like that sign too. Another favorite of mine is “Deer Crossing.” Have a super Sunday, Dan.

I didn’t see any “Beware of Dog” signs — guess all the pooches in your neck of the woods are the friendly sort! Thanks for the stroll, John. Yep, 93 is HOT! We’re under a heat advisory here, too, but maybe a round or two of storms will bring us some relief.

93 is relatively cool here. We have been in over 100 degree days for a week.

It’s been hot here, too. We don’t get humidity so that’s a blessing. We have lots of warning signs and too many political signs.

Yes. Political signs are a pain. Thanks, Craig.

Good morning, John!
Quite an interesting theme for your “Views from the Neighbourhood”. Here, I was thinking that we should put up a sign, “Slow down! Fawns at play!”
That van for blood donations reminds me of the time I wanted to donated blood in Karnes City, and was not allowed to, because I had lived in Germany when we had Mad Cow Disease, even if that had been more than ten years before. That seemed a bit over-cautious to me.
Have a great Sunday,
Pit

I’m not sure but I don’t think there is a screen test for Mad Cow. So cautious may be the only defense.

I’m not sure. I think there must be one, as in Germany I was allowed to donate blood. And for that one time in Karnes City: I think if I had been infected more than 10 years before that time, I would have gone mad long before that.

This was a terrific post! The theme of signs tied into everything in your neighborhood. I’d love to know more about the log structure with the flag in the doorway. If it’s original, I know what those series of holes are above the doorway. Thank you, John. I will now have that song stuck in my head all evening, but it’s a good one.
