It is Wednesday Story Day again, and last week we learned the lieutenant is set to call the Federal Prosecutor and arrange an interview with Lazar. We all are worried that Lazar is going to be somehow silenced before he can tell us all that he knows. The lieutenant has taken all the security steps necessary to make sure Lazar is safe. I see the lieutenant has just hung up the phone. Let’s go and see the status of the interview with Lazar.
“Well, that’s a piece of good news.”
“Tell us.”
“The DA is quite busy, but he is very interested in getting a statement from Lazar. He is sending an assistant DA to get the statement. She’ll be here within the hour.”
“That is good news. I still have the concern that Lazar will somehow come to a bad end the longer he sits here.”
“I trust my team. We are not going to have a Jeffery Epstein situation on my watch. We got Lazar on suicide watch, and he is never alone.”
“How about when he is with his lawyer?”
“Yeah, the sixth amendment protects client privilege. We can’t watch him while he is with his lawyer. That is one crack in the wall.”
“So what if the lawyer is on the take from the mob.”
“The only scenario I can think of is the lawyer gives Lazar some kind of poison. But we search him thoroughly when his conference is over.”
“Why would Lazar take poison?”
“Maybe the mob has his family. Who knows? Let’s just hope that isn’t the case. We can also hope Lazar trusts his lawyer.”
“We need to hope the Lawyer is only working for Lazar.”
“In any case, the ADA will be here shortly, so we are not likely to lose Lazar in the meantime. Let me check to see if he is still with the lawyer. Smithson, Mayfield here. Is Lazar still with Stannis?”
“Yes, Lieutenant. They have not come out of the room.”
“Thanks. Mayfield out. Looks like they are still at it.”
“I couldn’t help but overhear your conversation with the DA.”
“Yes?”
“What did he say when you mentioned Rafferty?”
“He was mildly interested at first.”
“Then. After you mentioned, he worked for Cortez?”
“His voice went up an octave. I think he is interested now.”
“Oh, that’s great. Maybe we can catch a break and get to the bottom of our case as well. This makes me feel good. By the way, Andrew and I have gone quite a while without coffee. You have any around here?”
“You must be kidding. This is a police station. Of course, we have coffee. Come on, I’ll take you to the break room.”
“It just doesn’t get any better than this. Lead the way lieutenant. You’ve been quiet, Andrew.”
“Yeah. I keep thinking about the poison. It sure would be good for the mob to have Lazar out of the way.”
“Are you foretelling, Andrew?”
“I’m not a fortune teller if that’s what you mean.”
“Yeah, let’s get a cup and relax a minute.”
“I’ll be glad to see the ADA.”
“Me too.”
Twiggy resort. Wednesday’s dream 🙂 🙂 🙂 Pets are so sweet when they sleep. Thank you, dear John! I wonder how you manage to make their photos. Aren’t they sensitive to the sounds?

My phone is on silent so there are no sounds when I take their photos. Yes they would pop up if there wasa sound. Thanks, Maria.

Yes it is true. Gotta outsmart two dogs. Takes all my intelligence to do so.

Really hope they’re wrong about the poison. They need to catch a break.

Me too. Had to discuss it though.

With all of the talk about poison, I’m not sure I’d be up for a cup of Joe.

That was exactly my thought, Jill!

Get the DA over here, quick. We can’t afford another dead end. As Jill mentioned, check that cup of coffee.
The girls look tired, John. How long have you had them on guard duty?

They just got off the morning shift. They were born tired.

Don’t like that creepy feeling going up my spine, John. Now to be patient for next week!
Love the girls’ resignation

I know what you are saying about creepy spine. Yes next week should see the arrival of the ADA. Thanks, Dale.

I hadn’t even thought about poison – but now I am.

All the talk about poison has erased my interest in another cup. I wonder who will take the first sip? On the up-side, your photo of the pups is delicious. 🙂

Thank you, Gwen. I’m not taking the first sip. 😁

Heck, top my cup up, too. After the year of Covid, I no longer care about such trivialities as poison. Good coffee, on the other hand, is worth the risk.

Akk… Where’s Mickie the fortuneteller when you need her? Andrew’s spidey sense is tingling… Maybe Mickie will sense his sensing and fly in to make some sense of things. No, John… I don’t have any sense. LOL. Hugs on the wing.

It would be nice to see Mickie again.

Oh dear. Poison? And nobody’s heard from Lazar or his attorney in awhile? This can’t end well. On second thought, maybe you’re just spinning another twist for us. Keep ’em coming!

I need a haircut so I thought I would throw in a French twist. 😁

I’ll curl up with the pups and poops until next week’s ADA meeting – as long as there’s a bowl of Willits next to my lips… Can you see to that, please??? 🙂

Here I filled up a bowl. There is a straw so you don’t have to lift your head.

This is some pretty heavy-duty foreshadowing, John. I think Lazar may be at the end of his earthly journey. 🙂 Great segment!

I’m not suspecting any hint of conventional poisoning – too obvious. With the possible connections that some of these mobsters have, perhaps think Novichek or Polonium.

Not original, though – see Alexander Litvinenko, and Sergei and Yulia Skripal

I think Andrew’s poison worry is valid. And why is Lazar and his lawyer taking so long? Hurry up, ADA. Hurry up next Wednesday’s episode.

Well, I would be chewing my non-existent fingernails for a whole week, but … I’m more than a week late to the party, so I’ll just pop on over to this week’s post now and satisfy my curiosity! Maybe. Or maybe I’ll still be on the edge of my seat!
