Friday has arrived. Twiggy can relax now. Just when you thought this year could not get worse, Hurricane Laura decides East Texas and West Louisana could use a category 4 whooping. Being forced to deal with Hurricane Harvey my heart goes out to anyone who now must deal with Laura.
As some of you know, I did an announcement launch of Eternal Road – The final stop. September 1st starts a whole month of blog tours, which I’m calling the hard launch.
This book is pretty far outside my comfort zone in that it is not solely a thriller. Yeah, there are some of those elements, but when the characters take some trips to other times and places in their 1956 Oldsmobile, you can almost believe the book has many genres. There are elements of fantasy, time travel, paranormal, history, sci-fi, romance, and spiritual. So if you like any of these kinds of stories, you will find something to enjoy. The tour participants are among the best-known bloggers and authors. I am very grateful for their help. Each stop will have a different excerpt, so if you visit, you will have a pretty good idea if this is the book for you. The good news is if you like what you see in the excerpts, there is still time to buy the e-book for 99¢ since that price will be good for 15 days after the tour ends.
I did universal links this time, so no matter what market you live in, the link will take you to your Amazon store. Yes, the price is the same worldwide translated to the local currency.
Here are the links again.
Today’s JohnKu talks about today’s challenges. I hope you all have a great weekend.
Today’s Challenges by John W. Howell © 2020
COVID 19 curse,
Political arguments . . .
Hurricane Laura.
They can get you down,
Or you can rise above them . . .
You can choose your path.
Great achievements for such a difficult yea, dear John! May this Friday be very special for you. 🙂

Well done getting your book published amidst all this chaos and upheaval, John. Sometimes, a great book is hard to place in traditional genres. It’s important to remember that categories were mostly made up for marketing purposes. Best of luck with the launch.
I have to say again how much I LOVE that book cover!
I’m so sorry to hear about the path of Hurricane Laura, John. I’m sending my thoughts and best wishes to everyone impacted. Please stay safe.
Hugs x 🙂

Thank you for the comments, Harmony. I feel for all those folks as well. I’m glad you like the cover. Nothing like a shiny 50s car to bring a smile and some interest. Here’s hoping you have a super weekend and that the rain stops where you. are. 😁

Good luck with the book release. Curious to see if hitting all those genres will be helpful. Definitely opens up a lot of doors.

I wrote the book without thinking of genre. Then all of a sudden there it was. Thanks, Charles.

Congratulations, John. I’m so happy for you — and all of us. I think one of the gifts of 2020 is rediscovering the miracle of life. Sometimes it’s lost in the noise of the present, but a few deep breaths and a glance at a flower or two, and the miracle re-appears. ♥

You are so right, Gwen. When things get dark searching out a light is the best course of action. The old saying comes to mind. “You can curse the darkness or light a single candle.” Thanks. ❤️

I’m so glad Laura didn’t complicate our lives. Now you can get on with the book tour without the anxieties nature sometimes provides. I like your JohnKu; we’re freer to choose our path than many understand.

All it takes is the understanding that we have the freedom to choose and then that first step. Thanks, Linda.

There is optimism and there is misguided optimism. One is administered with a teaspoon. And the other applied with a front-end loader. Fortunately I really enjoy power equipment. And irony. And surprisingly or perhaps not one immensely improves the quality of the sarcasm. Way beyond dripping. After all ‘that which does not kill us gives us optimism. Even is we have to limp away…’ And limping beats inert hands down…

I’m all for limping. I have done it for 50 years. Sure beats the alternative. Thanks, John.

The only good thing I can say for Laura is that she moved through quickly and didn’t linger for days and days like Harvey did. My heart goes out to all those who lost their homes and livelihoods because of her. You are SO right, John. Only we can choose our path! Here’s to rising above!
