Friday is here, and for the life of me, I can’t figure out a good reason to be overjoyed at the prospect. For those working, of course, it is a good thing to take a couple of days off. So I guess I’ll celebrate for you. 🎶 toot 🎶 (love that party horn.)
Not much going on around here. Yes, I’m still touring and am grateful for all the support. The last stop will be on the 30th, so there is a little way to go. A quick reminder that the price of Eternal Road will go up mid-October. It will go from 99¢ to $2.99. As I have said before, the price will never go below 99¢.
We have to keep Hurricane Sally victims in mind today. There is no such thing as an inconsequential Hurricane. Think of the last time you dropped some water on the floor. A Hurricane drops so much more water that usually everything on the main floor of homes is destroyed. Also, without power and A/C, the mold starts to grow immediately. These folks have a tough road ahead.

Uh — you’re right about hurricanes. Now we have TD22 forming in the Bay of Campeche and modeled to be heading for…. uh… us. Well, or Tampa Bay, depending. I’m so done with this season!

Crazy part of the hurricane thing is that I’ve barely heard about it. Seems like it’s a blip on the radar this time around because there’s so much going on.

I live in Louisiana, so it’s always someone I love. I have family in Houston,, Baton Rouge, and Lake Charles. And I weep for the people with wildfires.

I suspect Twiggy is a handful at times, but Lucy’s patience seems to calm whatever storm Twiggy might threaten. Sooo sweet. Your Haiku is a great reminder — for every person safe, there’s always another who is not, and so we pray. ♥

Thanks for another great JohnKu, and one that hits home with me. In the heart of hurricane country, here, as all Florida residents are. We hold our breaths as each one approaches, then sign in relief when it misses us, but cry for those who get slammed. This has been quite some year for storms, too, and it ain’t over yet. 😦 I’m relieved we were able to get the enormous dying tree down that was leaning toward our house, but with hurricanes, as you know, you don’t have to have a tree fall on you to be the victim of serious devastation, injury, or loss of life. Praying for everyone in the days ahead. Enough is enough, but then again, it IS 2020, and it seems like it’s going to be a wretched year straight to the finish. 😦 I sure hope 2021 is easier on us all.

It’s not easy to grasp until you’ve lived through the trauma. The heat, the jacked-up prices, the destruction to nature, the lack of electricity, long lines for gasoline and ice … ugh!

I cannot express how glad I am to live in a relatively “terror-free zone” (read: free from most weather-related disasters). I cannot imagine choosing to live in these places that are struck time and time again. Perfect JohnKu for all the sinister happening on both coasts.
And Twiggy looks remarkably guilty. Good thing you stepped in, methinks.

I have really enjoyed your “Eternal Road” tour, John! You’ve been all around the world and back again! 🙂 I love the JohnKu. We tend to forget about the storm victims once the storm is over. But it isn’t over for those who are trying to put their lives back together.

I agree with you on modest deed. We also should be kinder to one another as well. The Covid 19 virus did not spare people because of their political, religious, or lifestyle beliefs.

Given that we’ve all been through nasty weather, it’s easy to feel compassion and concern. As for the fire danger in the west, it’s beyond my imagination. I hope caring is enough.

It seems every time I check my news app there is yet another new hurricane developing or threatening. It’s scary how active this season is.

I like your Johnku, it has a great message. Empathy is something sorely lacking in the world. I’m all too familiar with the damage even a small hurricane can leave behind.
