I am over at Story Empire today. I’m talking about a review link to your book on Amazon. Here is the link. (speaking of links)

Friday is here, and for the life of me, I can’t figure out a good reason to be overjoyed at the prospect. For those working, of course, it is a good thing to take a couple of days off. So I guess I’ll celebrate for you. 🎶 toot 🎶 (love that party horn.)
Not much going on around here. Yes, I’m still touring and am grateful for all the support. The last stop will be on the 30th, so there is a little way to go. A quick reminder that the price of Eternal Road will go up mid-October. It will go from 99¢ to $2.99. As I have said before, the price will never go below 99¢.
We have to keep Hurricane Sally victims in mind today. There is no such thing as an inconsequential Hurricane. Think of the last time you dropped some water on the floor. A Hurricane drops so much more water that usually everything on the main floor of homes is destroyed. Also, without power and A/C, the mold starts to grow immediately. These folks have a tough road ahead.
Today’s JohnKu talks about facing tough times. I hope you all have a beautiful weekend.
Catastrophes by John W. Howell © 2020
You hear of a storm,
And feel good it’s not near you . . .
Pray, you are not next.
Your JohnKu is spot on this morning, John, especially with more systems brewing in the Atlantic. Boy, Twiggy looks like she means business in that photo! 🙂

She was very insulted that I asked her to stop jumping on Lucy. Lucy was not in the mood for Twiggy’s antics.

There are a lot of systems in the Atlantic lately. Thinking of everyone affected by 2020!

I know. It has been the year of misery. Thanks, Harmony.

Uh — you’re right about hurricanes. Now we have TD22 forming in the Bay of Campeche and modeled to be heading for…. uh… us. Well, or Tampa Bay, depending. I’m so done with this season!

Soon to be named Wilford. Hold on to your hat and uh whatever else is loose.

Crazy part of the hurricane thing is that I’ve barely heard about it. Seems like it’s a blip on the radar this time around because there’s so much going on.

One disaster after another for sure.

I live in Louisiana, so it’s always someone I love. I have family in Houston,, Baton Rouge, and Lake Charles. And I weep for the people with wildfires.

So many disasters. Thanks, Linda.

Such a crazy year. It seems nobody is left out of the loop. We’re about to choke on our own air out this way.

Yeah, I do feel for you guys for sure. Let’s hope these fires get under control soon.

They say we could get a little rain in the next 48 hours. That would typically be a lightning storm, but I have high hopes.

You don’t need lightning for sure.

I suspect Twiggy is a handful at times, but Lucy’s patience seems to calm whatever storm Twiggy might threaten. Sooo sweet. Your Haiku is a great reminder — for every person safe, there’s always another who is not, and so we pray. ♥

Yes, Lucy does get to the end of her rope and Twiggy seems to recognize that limit. So true anout one safe and one in harms way, Gwen. Pray indeed. Thank you for the visit. You added some inspiration this morning. 😊

You and I both lucked out when it came to Sally, but those other people sure got hit hard!

I know and from experience the water is the worst part. Thanks, GP.

Your JohnKu is spot-on. I am very glad I no longer live in hurricane country. I really feel for those who do. Twiggy is definitely wearing a Who me? face. Better keep an eye on her.

I’m also glad we moved from the coast. Yes , Twiggy was intent on pushing Lucy over the edge. I had to step in. Thanks, Liz.

Uh oh. The Boss had to put little Twiggy into Time Out?

Thanks for another great JohnKu, and one that hits home with me. In the heart of hurricane country, here, as all Florida residents are. We hold our breaths as each one approaches, then sign in relief when it misses us, but cry for those who get slammed. This has been quite some year for storms, too, and it ain’t over yet. 😦 I’m relieved we were able to get the enormous dying tree down that was leaning toward our house, but with hurricanes, as you know, you don’t have to have a tree fall on you to be the victim of serious devastation, injury, or loss of life. Praying for everyone in the days ahead. Enough is enough, but then again, it IS 2020, and it seems like it’s going to be a wretched year straight to the finish. 😦 I sure hope 2021 is easier on us all.

We have to look forward to better times. I feel for anyone caught in a hurricane or the fires out west.

So many storms already and looks like more to come. Twiggy looks like the perfect picture of innocence, lol.

Good luck on the tour John. I got my copy of Eternal Road. Thanks for the deal! I am from Louisiana and know hurricanes well. Flooding is far more devastating than the winds….

Hi John, that’s such a human reaction to when we hear about a storm. But it’s wise to think about the next one.

Yes it is. And maybe a thought for those caught. 😁

I’m also weary of this storm season, and I don’t live on the coast (though I do have family and friends there). Bet you’re glad to have moved away from it. Happy Friday, John — loved your JohnKu!

We are so glad not to be there. We felt so aone in trying to deal with the destruction. I never want to repete that again. Thanks, Debbie.

It’s not easy to grasp until you’ve lived through the trauma. The heat, the jacked-up prices, the destruction to nature, the lack of electricity, long lines for gasoline and ice … ugh!

Ugh for sure, Debbie.

I cannot express how glad I am to live in a relatively “terror-free zone” (read: free from most weather-related disasters). I cannot imagine choosing to live in these places that are struck time and time again. Perfect JohnKu for all the sinister happening on both coasts.
And Twiggy looks remarkably guilty. Good thing you stepped in, methinks.

You are very lucky. Yes, Twiggy was totally guilty. Have to love her expression though. Thanks, Dale.

I have really enjoyed your “Eternal Road” tour, John! You’ve been all around the world and back again! 🙂 I love the JohnKu. We tend to forget about the storm victims once the storm is over. But it isn’t over for those who are trying to put their lives back together.

I share your opinion, dear John, and as we are unable to do anything with that, we should find a reasonable explanation & a way how to co-exist with these events & how to return the balance lost in Nature by means of our modest deeds. Have a nice week-end!

I agree with you on modest deed. We also should be kinder to one another as well. The Covid 19 virus did not spare people because of their political, religious, or lifestyle beliefs.

Certainly, dear John! If only the Russians have heard you…You cannot imagine how much this “virus” made people hostile here. It shows the real problem of our society: absence of solidarity & compassion.

I’m so sorry you have to face those kinds of people. I hope you can ignore them. ❤️

Oh, John, the whole Moscow is like that. I do my best, don’t worry. That’s why I look odd in the crowd of the orks. By the way, the present Russian hostility & egoism is a consequence of the Soviet time not shown on TV. Thank you for your kindness. 🙂

Looks like Twiggy wants to make the most of Friday.
Given that we’ve all been through nasty weather, it’s easy to feel compassion and concern. As for the fire danger in the west, it’s beyond my imagination. I hope caring is enough.

It seems every time I check my news app there is yet another new hurricane developing or threatening. It’s scary how active this season is.
I pray for the safety of those who have been caught in the path of Sally.
Happy Friday, John. Stay safe.

I like your Johnku, it has a great message. Empathy is something sorely lacking in the world. I’m all too familiar with the damage even a small hurricane can leave behind. I’m happy Sally didn’t affect my area but I do feel for those people who did get affected by it. Thanks for the great advice on Story Empire. Have a wonderful weekend! ❤

Your JohnKu is perfect for nowadays, John. We’ve seen storms and fires occur that are so unprecedented that who knows what will happen next? That’s why our go-to bags are packed. I pray we’ll never need them, but times are scary and unpredictable. Anyway, I am happy to have a couple of days off, so toot that party horn! 🙂
