Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy and Lucy Outside

Lucy and Twiggy

“Hey, Lucy. I thought we were going to lay out today.”

“I’m doing just that.”

I meant with lounges, dad fetching drinks, the radio, sunscreen, and gossip.”

“Look around, Little One. We are dogs.”

“So what. That doesn’t mean we can’t have fun too.”

“Yeah, that’s true, but our fun is more basic.”

“Whaddaya mean, basic?”

“Well, like stretching out in the yard, not on a chaise.”

Or like doing this concrete instead. of a nice pillow.”

“Yeah, now you have the idea.”

That’s really not me. I look for the finer things of life.”

“Yeah, like that ant you’re chasing.”

“I mean, what’s it gonna hurt to— What are you doing?”

“Exercising the freedom granted all dogs to roll around on the grass.”

“You are embarrassing me. Next, you’ll be burying a bone.”

“Nothing wrong with that either. You ought to try this.”

“Not on my life. Mom sees me doing that, and I’ll be in the bath before I can say, Jack Robinson.”

“Well, you are missing out. I feel like I’ve been to the spa. So relaxed.”

“I still want to lay out in style. You with me?”

“Um. I think I hear the kibble dropping into a bowl.”

“You just said that to get me away from the patio, right?’

“Worked like a charm. Wait, start whining I hear mom.”

    1. What a good idea, Barbara. Of course that may start a trend that we would regret. 😁

  9. The pic of Lucy on her back? That’s the way my cat sleeps. No feline dignity whatsoever.

  10. Twiggy knows her stuff. I’m all about the chaise lounge, the drinks, and sunscreen. Although I’ve got to admit Lucy looked like she was really having fun with her roll in the grass.
As always, these two always make me smile. I love their adventures!

    1. Thak you, Mae. Yes Lucy loves her rolls more than anything. Twiggy thinks rolling in the grass is beneight her. She prefers the living room rug.

  11. Inquiring minds want to know: do those two get ant bites? It just occurred to me that I have to be pretty darned careful about where I roll around in the grass (or sit to take photos) because of the ants. If they’re immune, I’m jealous.

    1. They are not immune. I spray for ants. Cutter Backyard controls them very well.

    1. Yes, they are very patient with us. My mission with the dogs is the same as when I had kids to raise. The mission is to make sure they are as happy as possible while they are with me. Of course, it means they are self confident and headstrong but that is okay. I’m glad it shows. Thanks for letting me know Susannah. 😁
