As the headline says, there is a Corvette and Mustang show here in Lakeway. We need to load the bus and then disembark at the display space when we get there. We will be setting up a buffet for your pleasure. Today we are serving cracked stone crab claws, fresh asparagus, fingerling roasted potatoes, station carved standing rib roast with horseradish aioli, fresh-caught sea bass, saffron rice pilaf, and assorted cakes and homemade vanilla ice cream for dessert. There are assorted wines and top-shelf liqueurs. We also have Lady Antebellum for your entertainment.
So everyone get on board, and let’s go.
A vintage corvette. I’m sorry, but I didn’t get the exact years on a lot of these. This one is from the 80s.
Here is a new model.
If you ever wondered what a turbocharged Corvette looks like without its clothes, here’s one for you.
A 1980 Corvette. Hard to believe it is 40 years old.
A 1987 Corvette with special paint.
A 1979 Corvette with the Stingray emblem.
Two vintage Mustangs from about 1985.
A red 2019 Shelby Cobra flanked by two late-model Mustangs.
A 1965 Mustang GT that is 55 years old and looks brand new.
Another 80s model Mustang convertible.
1968 Mustang GT
Amazing color.
Unusual paint (US AIR Force) and custom doors on a 2020.
2020 convertible
About a 2008 Shelby Mustang.
Well, that is the tour. Stay have some more food and listen to the music. I hope you have a great week
I’d never go to a car show; they just don’t interest me. On the other hand, I have a lot of affection for those old Mustangs, and if someone were to offer me a ride in one, I wouldn’t be opposed. Now that I think about it, a trip to the levee in a Chevy wouldn’t be bad, either.

Problem is the levee is dry and them old boys are drinking whiskey and rye. 😊I was born and raised in Detroit so I can’t resist. Thanks, Linda.

Well, then! You surely took a ride or a few with Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels!

What prompted such an outstanding buffet? Now I’m starving… see ya!

The buffet just rolled off the keyboard. It sounded good to me so I wrote it. I admit it was before lunch. 😂 Lotto for sure.

I agree. I had a number ofphotos that I didn’t use since the paint jobs were pretty standard and they were new.

I love car shows. It’s one of the few things I can remember doing with my dad, just me and him. But, for this one, I’m staring out the window at the cars from inside the bus while gorging on the delicious food and listening to Lady Antebellum! 🙂

I really love these old beauties, John! I remember not long ago traveling on the interstate and being surrounded — back and front — by a gazillion Corvettes. All colors and ages, mostly driven by guys who were probably young when their vehicles were made! What a treat — they sure got the stares, too. Thanks for letting me join the party!

First off – what a meal you have planned! I am in! And I went down to get the music going as I enjoyed the tour.
My father had a lemon yellow Corvette Stingray – I want to say it was a ’73-’74. (My mother is wracking her brains right now. She did remember being pissed at him once and taking it for a drive in spite, scaring the shit out of him!) He was a cool cat, my old man. And don’t mess with my mom, either 😉
Mick was a Mustang fanatic and had a Shelby (before I was in the picture).
Wonderful tour, John!

Awesome car show! I used to go to those all the time, but never in such style. Beautiful cars but I didn’t see my favourite, the 1963 Corvette stingray. Thanks for the trip, John.

There was nothing older than the 78. I remember the Sting ray.

Thank you for explanation, dear John. I even suspect where it is fixed inside…It must be something really precious for those who are fond of cars. My attempt to learn driving failed when I realized that I started engine at the red lights. 😂😂😂

LikeLiked by 1 person
Not yet. 🙂 In Moscow there is no need, as the public transport system is well-developed. while in Europe it is impossible without driving. I will have to learn anyway.

What a great event. I used to participate in car shows prior to marriage. Classic cars require a lot of money, and it turns out marriage does, too. Something had to give. Maybe one day after winning the lottery I can do it again.

I’ve never been much of a car person, but I’ve visited the Corvette Museum (only 15 minutes away) and it was pretty interesting. Also saw the cars that fell into the sink hole when part of the floor collapsed a few years back. Awesome menu today, John!

Hi John, the food sounds heavenly and that song is one of my favorites of Lady Antebellum’s. Those mustangs took me back to my childhood when my parents owned a white ’65 mustang. I was twelve years old and I told them to hang onto it for when I start to drive. They didn’t though. 😦
But in 1980, I bought a royal blue mustang and loved it. Memories…
Thanks for the food and tour, and I hope you don’t mind if I take a couple of crab claws to go…
