Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy and Lucy – New Years Eve

“What are you doing, Twiggy?”

“I thought I would wake Lucy, and we could go outside and play.”

“Come on, you and I will go out.”

“You want to run and let me chase you?”

“I’m pretty sure you could catch me in an instant.”

“Okay. There was a ball down there last time I checked. We could play ball.”

“Good idea. The ball is right behind you.”

“I’m not talking about the soccer ball. There is a green ball.”

“I don’t see a green ball.”

“Well, see that is the ball Lucy and I like to play with. Why won’t she come out?”

“It is New Year’s Eve, and Lucy is resting up for the big show.”

“Show? What show?”

“At midnight, there is a big ball that drops in Times Square, signaling that a New Year has arrived.”

“Can’t people just look at their watch to know it is after midnight? Okay, throw the soccer ball, and I’ll chase it.”

“Hmmm. Come to think about it, that is some distance. If I’m going to stay up till midnight, I will need to rest too.”

“So you aren’t going to get the ball.”

“Nah. I think I’ll join Lucy.”

Twiggy and Lucy

“Well I hope you rest up you two. We certainly want to make sure 2020 is gone.”

  2. Being on blog break couldn’t stop me from checking on the Dynamic Duo. Once again, Lucy displays wisdom … but I wonder if Twiggy is starting to catch on or is this an anomaly. Now I wonder if I’ll be awake at midnight.

I’ll probably miss the celebrations, but there’s always the morning replays.🙂 I loved Twiggy’s adventure.

  5. Hi,
I like Twiggy and Lucy. Words of wisdom from dog with a good eye for what really matters. Great dialogue, John. I am still smiling.
Have a great crossover with Twiggy and Lucy.

  9. I can’t think of anything better than watching Lucy and Twiggy chase 2020 right out of the yard. My favorite card this year carried an old Texas suggestion to 2020: Don’t let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya!

    1. I love that too. I think I will let Twiggy bark 2020 to St. Louis.

  11. A good idea to sleep away the last of 2020, girls. I suppose the celebrations this year will be very quiet, John. People will have to watch them virtually rather than in person.

    1. I like quiet. Lucy and Twiggy hate fireworks so I hope there are few. Happy New Year Robbie.

  13. Haha. Lucy has the right idea, John. But I’m with you about making sure this year gets gone. This week I’ve found myself wishing folks a “happy end of the year” rather than a slightly early “Happy New Year,” and it just feels right to do that. So, for one more day, happy end of the year, my friend! Hugs on the wing.

  17. So cute. Mine will have to put up with fireworks tonight. The whole neighborhood takes part in this for some reason.

    1. I just hate the neighborhood fireworks. They are illegal here but still happen. The dogs get very nervous. I found playing music helps. A Happy New Year wish to you.

  27. So many lessons from your two girls here. Why chase the ball when it’s so far away? Naps are good for the body and the soul. I’m going to guess that the ball comes down at midnight while I get my beauty sleep so I’m ready to celebrate the new year tomorrow. With a walk around the block and a good meal in front of the fireplace. 🙂 Happy New Year, John.
