Stream of Consciousness Saturday – Prompt – “Sky’s the Limit”

It is Stream of Consciousness time again, and here comes Linda Hill. She has a balloon on a string and an envelope attached to the string. I’ll bet it is the prompt for today.

“Hi, Linda. Want to come inside.”

“No thanks, John. I just need to deliver this prompt.”

“I like the balloon.”

“Well, grab the envelope and open it. See you.”

“Bye, Linda. Now let me see. I’ll open the envelope. Oops, the balloon just got away. Wow, look at it, climb. The sky’s the limit for that sucker. Let me see what the note says.”

Your prompt for #JusJoJan and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “sky’s the limit.” Write about something that has or seems to have no end. Enjoy!

“Hey, why are you looking up at the sky?”

“I just lost a balloon.”

“A balloon. What kind of craziness are you up to now? Oh, wait. The Saturday prompt, right?”

“That’s right. It came from Linda Hill on the end of a balloon.”

“Let me guess. You opened the envelope, and the balloon got away.”

“Once again, you qualify as a clairvoyant.”

“Only you would lose a balloon chasing something as dumb as this Saturday thing.”

“The prompt is for us to talk about something that is endless.”

“Yeah, so what have you chosen? The height that the balloon will go?”

“No, that’s not it.”

“The amount of time you will spend on this prompt.”

“Very funny.”

“Okay, I give up. What is it.”

“Your criticism of my prompt activities.”

“Huh?”

“It’s endless. You are always criticizing. Never supportive.”

“Now, wait a minute. People will get the wrong idea.”

“About you?”

“No, about you.”

“What do you mean?”

“You should be writing about big endless things like freedom.”

“Freedom can end.”

“Don’t we know that. How about endless possibilities.”

“That does sound better. Possibilities to do what?”

“Do something else on Saturday besides the prompt.”

“There you go.”

“You left yourself wide open.”

“I give up.”

“Beer time?”

“You’re buying.”

    1. Well it is. I had a great time on vacation one time in my life. I caught fish for breakfast and had a beer with them. That beer has not been beaten for enjoyment yet. 😁

  6. I like the way you bounced us around a few corners, John. Nice job! Hold on tight, to the balloons and to the good possibilities.

    Take care.

    1. I get a beer on Saturday so I naturally gravitate to that. This week it is VooDoo Ranger an Imperial IPA (9% ABV) Look out.

      1. Of course. You deserve one come Saturday 🙂
VooDoo Ranger has quite the name! Was it good? IPA’s have a way of being great to not so great, for me.

      6. Thank you. I have this thing about drinking and driving. It is horrifying to me. I did have a glass of wine with dinner and I still have tonight to look forward to so all is good. 😊

      7. It’s a good thing to have. Drinking and driving is not to be taken lightly. A glass of wine at dinner is not something to worry about but we all have our limits.

      8. Yeah, I guess my days in pilot training gave me an aversion to even one drink before driving

      9. Pilot training? Is there nothing you haven’t done? But yes, it is a very good thing to have – aversion to drinking and driving.

    1. I did visit and since your contact page is not complete here are a couple of points. 1. You say daily tips yet your posts are not daily. I would change the subheading to just “tips.” 2. You should finish the “about” section. If you want followers that is where people go to see more about who you are. 3. To build a following you should read and comment on other blogs but eliminate the link to your own. I think you have some interesting things to say, but leaving a link and asking for a follow does not generally work with bloggers who have worked hard to build followers. Hope this helps.😊
