Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy and Lucy Warm Again

Lucy and Twiggy

“Whoa, Lucy. This ground is warm.”

“Yes, it is. The temp is 81 degrees F today. That’s 27.2 C for our metric friends.”

“Why are you laying there staring at the fence.”

“No reason. I just wanted the sun on my back.”

“I’m not buying it. There must be something over there.”

“There isn’t anything, I promise you.”

“Well, that’s disappointing. I thought you would have a reason for laying that way.”

“Nope, just catching the rays.”

“You lay here if you want. I’m going to check out the patio.”

Lucy and Twiggy

“Hmm, the snow didn’t leave any marks.”

“What? I can’t hear you.”

“Nothing. I was just admiring the vincas. Are these edible?”

“You are mumbling. Come where I can hear you.”

“Okay, I’m here. What’s that over there?”

“Weren’t you saying something about the patio, and now you are wondering what is over there?”

“Well, yes. That’s what I do. Attention isn’t my strong suit.”

Lucy and Twiggy

“Where you going?”

“I need a drink. I’m going into the saloon.”

“Very funny. What’s wrong with a little deficit in the attention department?”

“Huh? I was looking at that shiny thing on the porch.”

“Okay, I get it.”

  1. I’m jealous of that warmth, but I reckon you guys earned a weather break. That’s a big change over a short time, though. I don’t blame the girls for catching some rays while they can 🙂

Loved this exchange, John. The girls are great teachers about “the little things of life” and how we need to pause and enjoy the moment. Oh, wait, you wrote the dialogue. 😁 Hats off to warmer temps!

Here? Looks like a beautiful winter wonderland with the snow that fell yesterday. The sky is blue and unfortunately the wind has picked up so all the pretty is already falling. Sigh. I’m bringing my camera with me on my lunchtime walk anyway…

  30. I’m so glad Lucy and Twiggy have warm weather again. I thought we had crazy weather here in Florida, but Texas’ weather seems even nuttier. How can you have snow and freezing weather one day and a few days later have 81 degrees F?

    1. Your question is a good one Vashti. The answer is cause it’s Texas 😂

  31. I relate to the deficit of attention, as my attention was being eaten away by a movie as I tried to write Heroes last night . . . while texting . . while searching eBay . . while, okay you get the point.

As for 27 Celsius . . MUCH better than Fahrenheit.
