Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy Has Had It.

Lucy and Twiggy

“Twiggy, where you going?”

“To the patio. I need to catch some rays.”

“There’s no pillow up there.”

“Right, we have had some rain, and Mom took the pillows in.”

“I’m not sure I can do this.”

“Yes, you can. You don’t need a pillow.”

“I mean, speak for yourself.”

“Okay, let’s see if we can get you one.”

“This is a little uncomfortable.”

“For heaven’s sake, I’ll go get you a pillow.”

“That’s okay. I’ll just stretch ut on the patio.”

“It’s pretty hot in the sun.”

“What’s that? Looks like an ant.”

“Yes, it’s an ant.”

“I’m out of here.”

“Hey, Twiggy, what’s up?

“You won’t believe what I had to put up with out there.”

“Looks like you had a rough time.”

“You wouldn’t believe it. No pillow and a crazed ant wandering around.”

“Sounds like you ought to file a complaint with the management.”

“Not a bad idea. How do I do that?”

“HEY, LUCY. HOW DO I FILE A COMPLAINT?”

“Geez, Little One. I’m right here.”

“But your eyes are closed, and you are not paying attention to me.”

“My eyes are closed, but my ears are open.”

“You go to Mom and let her know your complaint.”

“Maybe I’ll wait. Not having a pillow isn’t all that bad.”

“What about the ant?”

“It has to live too, I suppose.”

“You are such a trooper.”

“I try.”

  1. When Trevor helped to dig the garden in France, he’d often disturb an ants’ nest and end up with bites between his pads. Drove the poor little guy mad. Twiggy did well to leave it alone and run indoors.

    1. We have to be on the watch for them. Twiggy gets bites on her tummy if she isn’t careful.

    1. We had more ants at the coast than we have here. We still need to watch out for them. Thanks, Harmony.

  5. Sorry Twiggy had such a ‘ruff’ go of it trying to find a spot to relax on the patio, but at least the snow has gone! 👍 Thanks for my morning smile, John…

    1. Thank you, Lori. Twiggy’s idea of a rough time is one that needs to be taken with a grain of salt. She does like her pillows though. 😁

Thursdays rule! I loved the dialogue. I always smile at how mom handles this or that, per the writer, because I suspect their papa scurries after these two angels as well. Beautiful family! 🤗

  13. What a rough life. No pillow and an ant? And the whole hassle of a formal complaint to be filed? That’s a full day. Poor thing. She deserves an extra belly rub today. And one for her sister for putting up with the drama.

  19. Pillows are essential so I’m with Twiggy. Are these red ants or fire ants? The fire ant bites are fierce. We have them here now.

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Not sure what kind of ant. Not even sure there was an ant. We do have fire ants but I keep them under control.

      1. We have struggled for years to control the fire ants. What do you use?

        Liked by 1 person

      2. Just the stuff you buy in the store to kill fire ants. Not sure it kills them, I think they just move to another spot.
