Stream of Consciousness Saturday – Prompt – “Run”

I was working hard to get my Classic editor back when I heard some noise on the driveway. Investigating, I found a box had been dropped off by FedEx. Yes, it was from Linda Hill. Here is what was inside.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “run.” Use it as a noun, a verb, use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

If you would like to have fun, please visit Linda’s blog and read how. Here is the link.

Run by John W. Howell © 2021

“Another Saturday, and you must be deep into all things prompt.”

“Well, as you are so fond of mocking my hobby, yes I am.”

“Are you flummoxed this week?”

“No, in fact, this week is easy.”

“Run it by me.”

“Not sure it is worth your great intellect.”

“Oh, come on. Don’t run off at the mouth. Just tell me.”

“I think the longer I keep it from you, the more this post will be a snap.”

“You are going to wait until I run out of energy?”

“No, not necessarily.”

“Run out of patience?”

“Um, no.”

“Now I get it. You want me to run away.”

“That is not what I want at all.”

“This is some guessing game run for sure.”

“Yeah, I think you are getting close.”

“Run amuck?”

“Pardon me?”

“You are waiting till I run myself onto the shore?”

“Nice nautical touch but no.”

“I’ve run out of guesses.”

“It is easy. I’ve let you run on because the prompt is run.”

“Run?”

“Yup. By letting you run, I pretty much completed the prompt.”

“You used me.”

“Like a dishrag.”

“Can’t say I blame you. For once, you didn’t need to run yourself ragged thinking of what to write.”

“How about a run to the pub.”

“We can run a tab.”

“Da doo run, run.”

    1. Dear Klausbernd,
I decided to run your wish for a good weekend by the powers that be and am pleased they concur. They also took time to run your stats and assured me that wishing you the same would run true to the outcome. 😁

  5. Lovely post as always. I’d like to run something by you… I still use Classic and here’s how… My Sites – WP Admin – Posts – All Posts – Add New – arrow down – Classic Editor!!!

    1. I did the same for the last year, Pamela. The problem that you will face sometime in the future is WP Admin will disappear. Then you have to go in a different direction. When that day comes do this.
Open your WP, click on your face (or whatever image you use) in the circle at the top right in the black bar. Right beside the bell.
Once you have clicked there, it will bring you to your profile. On the left side, choose account settings.
Scroll down until you get to Interface settings and there is a slide bar under Dashboard Settings. Click on that, go below the colour options and save.
Then, you will have the same admin page as before. Just like the last time when they pulled this nonsense! You can then click on posts and then add new and choose classic. 😁

      1. Thanks, John. I tried it, and it worked. For the time being. I hope it doesn’t revert to Block again with no warning. I was in a total panic.

  9. Once again, John, you’ve hit a home run with this post. From my perspective, you have a hood run of hits under your belt. Keep it up. And if anyone disagrees and comes to protest vehemently, do what I always do, run to the ‘roundhouse’, they can’t ‘corner’ you there 🤪

    1. Hahaha. Thaks for the advice and kind words, Steve. I’ll keep the roundhouse on my list of places to run. 😁

  10. This may have run its course. Or not. The bottle is still half full. So there would be no need to run off too soon. Cheers.

  11. I was gonna do a beer run before reading this then realised it is a tad early.. So I’m gonna run myself ragged trying to get my steps in, that way I’ll deserve it later 😉
Always, you give me a good chuckle!

Very clever, John! I’d run away and hide if there were someplace to get away from all of the craziness of the last year. Instead, I’ll just run off at the mouth.
