I would say you can save water by taking a shower, so true.
Clue #7 A monument in the shape of our state holds this question on its back.
There is a monument shaped like Texas. I see the clue on its back
I think the State of Texas produces the most power of any state. (Duh)
Clue #8 Find information and a clue here.
There’s the park information sign. The clue is pinned inside the glass.
I would say we should water house plants with unused water.
Clue #9 Batter up
There is the question on a tree by the batter’s cage. I would say the best thing is to go to a car wash.
Clue #10 When caterpillars transform, they head to this garden to look for food.
This is the path leading to the Butterfly garden. There’s the question.
I’m going to pick 4000 years since it is the biggest number.

Fiction Favorites 
I loved the morning tour and quiz, John. How perfect to focus on Earth Day! Our area has an abundance of water, but even so, I’m always alert to ways to conserve. I think plastics of all forms are the greatest worry for our beautiful planet. BTW, that’s quite a catered brunch, certainly more enticing than my oatmeal and blueberries. 😊

Great quiz, John. My mother taught me at a young age not to keep the faucet running, especially while brushing my teeth. Brunch was delish! Wishing you and the family a peaceful Sunday.

The spreads have become so lavish, I think you would have to have to purchase a tour bus to accomodate them.

A great way to celebrate Earth Day. We have one of those dispensers to refill water bottles at the hospital where I work.

I think your answers are good, John. I’m impressed with the idea of this fact-finding challenge. You either think or learn about conservation and you get some exercise in the process. Now that I’ve built up a healthy appetite, I’ll have a couple waffles and the Royale with cheese. I’ll follow that with Bombe Au Chocolat and a splash of red wine. Great post, John, and of course, perfectly timed. I’ve never seen one of those stations for refilling your water bottle, but I can guarantee you that I do NOT buy bottled water. (For one thing, it costs more per gallon than gas!) And then there are all those empty bottles, which are a major eyesore since some people throw them out of their car windows like morons, and that doesn’t even count the environmental costs. (Ooops. Can you tell that makes me angry?)
I have several sizes and styles of water bottles, canteens, and the like around here, and wouldn’t think of using anything else. And when a hurricane is coming, we have two five gallon containers, with spouts, we fill with tap water for drinking, plus the CLEAN bathtub is filled, so we can dip water from there for flushing and washing. (We’re busy doing that while some are out filling their shopping carts with mountains of bottled water.)
I’m going to be on the lookout for those refill stations, now. Maybe they’ve started popping up while I’ve been staying home? I’d like to see them everywhere! 🙂

“I would say you can save water by taking a shower, so true.” – I agree. And especially if you take a shower the right way: get yourself wet, soap up while the shower ist turned off, and then only rinse the suds off again without standing under the water for longer than jys that.

That – among other times/places – is where I learned it: in my long-past sailing days. Well, to tell the truth: there were occasions when I didn’t shower for two week. Good that there’s always (plnety of) wind on a sailing-boat. 😀

Enjoyed this week’s environment test. Looking forward to the answers. Ironically, our local Ecopark’ sent out a quiz but it wasn’t nearly as good as your. However, every recycling and conservation tip is good.

I don’t buy bottled water, but with our recycling plant no longer taking plastic or glass, it kills me to throw all of that away every week. Thanks for the fun trivia hunt, John!

I think taking a bath uses less water. At least for me anyway because when the water starts to get cold in the bath I rinse and get out, in the shower it stays hot forever so I stay in longer…a lot longer.

It may be that way for you but in general A standard showerhead flows at a rate of 2.5 gallons per minute. This means that a ten minute shower only uses 25 gallons of water. A full bath can use up to 70 gallons of water. Using these numbers, a shower will use less water in most cases. (even a 20 minute shower)

Ah, I seldom fill up the tub beyond a quarter of the way. Halfway when I use the jets, so I think my baths use less water than my showers, but I’m guessing. 😀

I will give it to you.1/4 of 70 (full tub) is 17.5 or so gals. 1/2 full with jets is 35

Well my logic was they reuse the water and so the amount per car is less. No there are no official answers. I think they have violated a FASB rule here.
