“What are you doing, little one?”
“I’m wondering if we should play ball.”
“I don’t know. The grass is pretty wet from the rain.”
“Yeah, but we can still play.”
“You better check out this grass. I know how you hate to get a wet ball.”
“It doesn’t feel that wet to me.”
“Well, stand there a while and let the water seep into your paws. Then tell me.”
“There sure is no sun, so we might as well make the best of it.”
“I’m walking away, so you’ll have to speak up.”
“Oh, look in the sky. I think it’s an eagle.”
“Get on the porch then.”
“It’s a vulture. He won’t bother you.”
“You sure? I don’t feel like being picked on.”
“If I didn’t know better, I would say that vulture spooked you.”
“Nope, just keeping up with my exercise program.”
“There is one more thing to watch out for. A spider.”
“Yikes. I don’t even like the looks of him.”
“They are good things to have. They eat insects.”
“You have to walk carefully around them for sure. Insects? Yuk.”
“So the final final on the ball game?”
“All this talk about eating makes me want a snack. Let’s pass on ball and go for food.”
“Who was talking about eating? I just mentioned the diet of spiders.”
“Did you mention the word, ‘eat?'”
“Yes. . . Oh, for heaven’s sake.”
“Just beat on the door. You are bigger.”
Lols. The girls always make me smile. Thanks, John. Have a lovely day 🙂

Ahh, football or food, such a hard choice. Still, an eagle or a vulture can’t pick me up if I’m too heavy after eating.
Your usual well conceived conversation John.

Thursdays are always a delight. Today the girls choose between a spider or a snack? I suspect mom or dad has something special for these two. 😊

Thank you, Gwen. Their old treats got a recall notice. They have new which both seem to enjoy. (peanut butter based.) I’m glad you got a smile this morning. 🤗

Twiggy can practically carry on a conversation by herself! She’s cute.
LikeLiked by 1 person
She does do that when she wants something. She doesn’t bark but kind of grumbles. There is no getting her to be quiet until she gets it. Usually a toy she can’t reach. (which was put away for a time when she is particularly bored)

Wet paws? That means rain, and rain means growing grass. That means mowing for you, but more comfortable grass for them. Puppies, rejoice!

They should. We are having real problems with the lawn this year. Slow growth, fungus, nutsedge, you name it. Might be time for astroturf.

She does. She also has a frown thatshe doesn’t use much. 😁

It sounds like a good snack trumps play time. I bet they’ll make up for the missed time when the sun comes out and the grass dries up. I wouldn’t want a wet ball either!

Yeah, I don’t blame them either. Thanks, Mae.

Twiggy seems so happy, dear John! She even smiles to us, her humble international audience! I see that the Twiggy Resort is preparing actively for the Soccer World Cup! Be it so! Monday & Friday will be the best referees! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Twiggy really looks like she’s smiling in one of the pics. They may not care for insects, but Bond eats flies if they get in the house. Saves me from having to swat them, lol.

Good ole Bond. Lucy will snap at things flying but not Twiggy. She likes the crawlies

Th girls’ conversations always devolve to food! I just love their interaction and I hope they get their exercise with the ball.

They decided not to play ball but played tag instead. Either way plenty of exercise.

LOL. “Just beat on the door.” They aren’t shy or delicate about letting you know when they want back inside, right? John, it’s always a delight to visit with you and the girls. Thanks for these smiles. Hugs on the wing.

These guys crack me up, John. I don’t mean to offend, but I’m not sure Twiggy could get carried off very easily. She does look like she’s smiling in that one photo. Maybe that’s when she realized it was time for a snack.

Twiggy weighs 25 pounds so it would take a big bird. Yes I think it was the snack that got her to smile.

Boy, I empathize with that wet grass situation, John. Seems like we’ve had WAY more rain than typical for this time of year, making it next-to-impossible to keep a clean house (thanks to muddy Monkey paws!)

I never got an update on how his health was doing, and it has been quiet on the Debbie front.
