So let’s get on the bus.
Before we get too far, we need to check out this fawn and mother on my driveway.
Mama needs to do some bathtime chores.
Running to mom.
Speaking of fawn, here’s one that has been parked by its mother. This is usually okay, but the mom parked this little one on the front lawn in full view of everyone passing.
A close-up. The fawn is sound asleep.
A palm tree in bloom.
A field of wildflowers.
Here is beautiful artichoke agave that, because of the spring freeze, is shooting up a flower. This is usually before dying.
A small part of the herd having a stroll.
Here is a non-murdered crape myrtle blooming its heart out.
That is it for today. I hope you have a great week. Sit back and enjoy the food and music.
What a lovely walk. The deer are so precious. I know they eat some of the plants but I love them. Especially the fawns. The Eggs Sardou sound so good, I´m drooling. Happy Sunday to everyone at your house. xo

Thank you, Darlene. We love the deer too. That fawn is the cutest. 😊

How lucky you were to see those fawns. We haven’t seen any yet. That one in the first two pictures looks like it had just been born: still somewhat staggering on its feet and the mama licking it.
Have a great Sunday,
Pit

You have a good eye. It was a newborn. I didn’t dare go out while mom was doing her business, so I had to take the shot through the window. The window and close up lense made it a little blurry.

A few years ago I saw a scene like that just outside my office window, and I was wondering if that fawn had even been born in our front yard.

Beautiful photos, John. One of our neighbors feeds the local deer, so we daily see families. They are magnificent, aren’t they? I love to watch them. As for your elaborate menu, I’m overwhelmed. 😊

The menu is extensive so don’t eat too much. (Of course it is fat, calorie, and GMO free. Have a super Sunday.

I’ve got a feeling that a deer in your driveway activate the Twigmeister alarm system. Meanwhile, the deer have learned to coexist with humanity in your area. Good music choice!

Twiggy is pretty okay. She give one bark and then we tell her we see the deer. Unlike the UPS, or FedEx drivers she then is quiet. The deer and we all get along. Thanks, Frank.

Those are wonderful photos, John. We don’t see deer very often around here, so I appreciate your sharing the fawn. When you say the artichoke agave shoots up a bloom before dying, do you mean the whole plant is going to die?
As for breakfast, I’ll stick with simple simple omelette and a chocolate shake.
Have a great day.

Yes, once it blooms the mother plant dies. (Sad thing) I love your combo of a plain omelette and chocolate shake. Sounds good to me too. To be honest I would go for the shake by itself. Thanks, Dan

It must be great to go outside your own home and see wildlife. Here there are too many people for the wildlife to fit in!! It was a wonderful tour, John, but as far as the food goes – do you have a sampler plate? Everything sounded so good, I couldn’t decide!!
LikeLiked by 1 person
You can sample each just tell the server to bring you the King Henry special. It is a joy to go out and see the deer just living a normal life all around us. Thanks, GP 😊

You get things started with a bucco Benedict breakfast with all the trimmings, and then you give us fawns and agave trees and the goodbye letter to winter . . in images.
Best tour guide. Ever.

I LOVE New Orleans-style food, so pardon me while I pig out on that feast you’ve had prepared for us! *wiping Key Lime pie off my chin* I still marvel at all those deer lolling about your neighborhood. Doesn’t Twiggy or Lucy send up howls of rage at that?? I’m pretty sure Monkey would be spooked if he saw a deer on his driveway. Of course, to my knowledge, he’s never encountered one at all.

Lucy doesn’t say anything. Twiggy gives us one bark to let us know she is on the job. Thanks, Debbie.

The first photo was so sweet! It is nice to see photos of deer roaming freely without fear. Too often photos are of hunters posing with their dead deer. I loved your neighborhood in its natural state today. Food was not top shelf as usual. Thanks!

I still can’t get over the number of deer you have — and how wonderful to add that fawn to the herd. Another Austin friend found a fawn a few days back, plunked down in full view of everyone. His theory is that the deer have been around so long that they’ve learned they’re safe. I presume dogs are leashed there, and coyotes aren’t a problem.

Ahhhhh … the Sawyer Benedict is to die for! And the fawn and her mamá are so beautiful!!! The artichoke agave was … definitely different! I’ve never seen one before! And the wildflowers … wildflowers are my favourite, and the neighbors make fun of me for cultivating the dandelions here in da hood! Thanks for a beautiful Sunday morning, even though I was late to the party and didn’t hop on the bus until Monday afternoon! Have a great week, my friend.
