Views of the Neighborhood – Lakeway Garage Sale at the Activity Center.

Picture of an old time school bus

So, get on the bus.

Here we are at the Lakeway Activities Center.

There are ceramics.

Records.

Aisles of stuff.

More around the corner.

Totes, boxes, and people. The bag to the right says, “Life is Better in Flipflops.”

There are some now.

Treasures.

Furniture.

Aw.

American Flyer and Kraft shortening.

Lots of traffic today.

Well, that’s about it. Have some brunch, relax, and listen to Pink.

  1. That reminds me of a visit to a friend in Blaricum, Holland on Queen’s Day, 2004 (now King’s Day, of course). Apart from the street entertainment, almost the entire city was one big garage/car boot/jumble sale – see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koningsdag#Flea_market

    1. Thanks for the link. That must be some celebration. My thoughts turned to Amsterdam. and wonder if the no VAT applied to the window sellers. 🙄

  2. A fun place to visit, John. I must admit that when I see baby stuff, I am grateful I don’t need it any more. When I look at babies, I just see hospitals and doctors.

  4. I need to stay away from places like this, John. I finally got my garage cleared out. I will stick around for brunch though – Singapore Noodles for me 😊

    1. I can understand the feeling once the junk is gone not wanting to see it return. I feel the same way. The noodles sounded good to me as well.

  5. I’m looking at that American Flyer. We used to have one of those and I’d pull my Boston Terrier around the yard in it. Good memories.

      1. At the coast, we had a brand new American flyer to take stuff to the beach. We left it for the new owners.

  6. Did you find any treasures, John? I have those same Christmas bears! I should be adding mine to a sale like this. Thanks for taking us along. I’m stuffed!

    1. No treasures, Jill. There were a couple of things of interest but nothing that I couldn’t live without.

  9. Noticed the local garage sales have had tons more stuff than previous years. Guessing people had a lot of stuff build up last year since they didn’t do those. Strollers are always a good find for people since they’re typically expensive.

Looks like fun, John. I hope you found a treasure or two. Because of our recent moves, I’m leary of purchasing anything — though I did spot a wine rack. A necessity, don’t you think? 😊

  14. I went to a carboot sale this morning too. Missed out on a maiden (not of the Iron variety, meant to take my excess washing to air out) and a nice looking office chair. Prevarication doesn’t pay. I hope you found something nice. My brother and I followed up with roast beef lunch at The Bells of St. Mary’s,.a rather cool old pub. I hope your meal was enjoyable. Mike got a Black & Decker workmate very cheaply to take home tonight. Not sure if the song had any significance but I enjoyed it thanks.
