Thursday – A Little Personal – Lucy and Twiggy Are Back

“Hey, you two. I think you ought to go out and play.”

“Our week off is over?”

“Boy, that went quick, Lucy.”

“Well, you know what they say. Time flys when you are having fun.”

“What are you going to do on the patio?”

“The same thing I was doing on the bed.”

“I was thinking of starting a rock collection.”

“There are enough here for sure. I don’t think the cabana boy’s been here for a while.”

“I think something is lurking in the dark place.”

“You always say that, Little one.”

“Yeah, I know. This time I think it is real, though.”

“Let’s just relax on the lounges and take a break. The first day back is hard.”

“I’m just not going to be able to relax until I find out what’s back there.”

“Just go then. I won’t be able to talk you out of it.”

“You were right. Nothing back there.”

“Why are you running then?”

“To get the old heart rate up there.”

“You look a little concerned to me.”

“Naw, I can tell you there is nothing there. Let’s go back to the house. There’s no sun today anyway.”

“I suppose we could do the starving dog impersonation and maybe beg a treat.”

“I have to tell you the truth. There was an ugly spider back there.”

“You afraid of a little ole spider?”

“With green eyes? I sure am.”

“Oh, please. You are fine. I’ll scratch the door.”

“Don’t you just love how mom reacts to that?”

  5. I’m surprised you allow these monsters in your beautiful garden John. Just as well the girls can sniff them out, just a shame they can’t clear them out too. They’ll be claiming squatter’s rights soon and might pinch the girl’s loungers.
    Hugs

    1. We are lucky most of the monsters are figments of the imagination. Pinching a lounge would probably earn a tooth tattoo. Thanks, David.

      1. You’re welcome, John. I’ve never thought to ask: how do Lucy and Twiggy like having their pictures taken?

      2. Like all kids, sometimes thay like it and at other times they just won’t cooperate. I found the secret is to just let them do whatever they are going to do. I just follow along and click the shutter. Thanks, Liz.

  23. Sure sure sure it looks easy being a dog. Right up until one has to wait forever for a treat. And that is a long long long time. Especially when the treat just proffered is immediately eaten and forgotten. More please… or I will have to scratch the door.

  27. Haha. This is adorable, John. I wondered what “it” was going to be.
One day last week, I spotted a dark spot moving on the street. Went to investigate. It was a tarantula strutting his stuff down the street. I’d heard they were here, but in 2+ years had never seen one. What was really scary was that he was smart enough to wait for a truck to pass before crossing the road.
    Hugs on the wing!
