“So here we are. Raining cats and dogs out there.”
“Yup, so you need to find something to do.”
“What are you going to do?”
“I think I will lay down right here and take a nap.”
“Well, that’s fine for you old-timers, but we youngsters need action.”
“Go get your orange ball then. That thing bounces everywhere.”
“That’s a good idea. I love that ball.”
“Maybe we can play with it later. But, in the meantime, you need to stay occupied.”
“I don’t see it over here. This is where I left it.”
“Well, keep looking. You must know where you last had it.”
“No luck. I have looked everywhere.”
“How about that green ball you were so crazy over last week?”
“That green ball has lost its attraction. Humm, I wonder about eel.”
“There you go. A little game of tug’o war with the Boss.”
“See, there’s the problem. Dad is working on his WIP. So he won’t be ready till later.”
“Okay then. Why not think of something you can do by yourself?”
“Thinking by myself is about all I can do by myself. I wish it would stop raining.”
“It will, Little One. You need to have patience.”
“Patience? What’s that?”
“Oh yeah, I forgot who I’m talking to right now.”
“Thinking by myself is about all I can do by myself…” 😂 Hope the rain stops soon, John. Know you guys needed it, though….

I would suggest Twiggy read “Become What You Are” by Alan Watts but it doesn’t come with a rubber ball.

A good recommendation, Pilgrim. Thnaks. We got the ball.

My mother would classify Twiggy’s behavior as “being itchy.” Ah, the long-suffering Lucy.

You’re welcome. She’s certainly earned that title.

I would say so. We have a photo of Twiggy the puppy hanging off Lucy’s jowl.

There’s nothing better than a nap on a really rainy day, but drizzle makes me impatient, ready to join Twiggy in pleading, “So stop, already!”

Yes we got two inches. So it was good napping weather.

Green ball orange ball. Rain. Just enough sun to look tempting until that breeze and the temperature send a different message. I will go with Lucy’s plan. Now is an excellent time for a nap. Leave the fretting to youth and Twiggy. The green ball er the rest of the garden clean up will wait until a better day.

Our two are exactly the same. Dot just wants to have a nap but little Lia jumps all over her to get her to play. Thankfully we don’t get many rainy days here.

We don’t either. Makes for a long day.

Twiggy is an energetic youngster who needs to expend that energy somehow… Yoga would not work for her for now, methinks… Somebody find her her ball! 😉

Yes she needs a ball. (She has three in motion even as we speak)

Twiggy is twitchy, Lucy is wise. Do they ever play tug of war with the eel by themselves? be careful of those balls – our house is littered with them and I tend to step on them!

They do not play tug of war together. Just Twiggy and me.

Mr. Eel! What a joy & what a surprise, dear John! 🙂 🙂 🙂 What a pleasant & warm company for a dull rainy day! Some mulled wine & grilled sausages are also good to survive this nasty chilly weather! 🍷🌭🌭🌭
PS: It seems to me that the relationship between Twiggy & Mr. Eel might be called a sort of loyal one. She returns back to him.

Yes, Twiggy loved Mr. Eel. She plays with him every day. I can smell those sausages from here. 😁 🍰🥂

So, I’m to understand that teaching them to entertain themselves isn’t a one-time deal, right?? Thanks for the lesson, John. Looks like Twiggy needs a pal like Monkey so they’d both wear off some energy!
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes not a onetime thing. Over and over. Twiggy does need a high energy pal.
