When we see Christmas decorations, there is cause to ask, “What about Thanksgiving?” We just finished an outstanding Halloween so let’s see if we can find some Thanksgiving festive decorations. We are being catered by Lucky Robot of Austin. Our entertainment is Bob Seger ( I know he’s been here before, but we Detroit boys have to stick together.)

Awesome! I have to say that no one in our neighborhood has decorated for Thanksgiving. They all went right from Halloween to Christmas.

I ate my NOMNOMIYAKI while I enjoyed the Thanksgiving tour. I haven’t seen anything around here. One neighbor actually put their Christmas lights up near the start of November, same time as my ‘favorite’ radio station went to full-time Christmas music!! 😏🙄😖

Thanks for the tour, John. It’s fun to see the different ways people celebrate. I put up our fall decorations the second week in September. By the first week in November, I’m ready for Christmas so we are fully decorated! My father does ask “What about Thanksgiving?” For the past two weeks, I’ve been listening to non-stop Christmas music on our local radio station during my commute. I love it!

Wonderful displays, John. I particularly love the pumpkins. We had our pre-Thanksgiving meal yesterday. The turkey had defrosted so I went ahead and made a full meal – along with pumpkin/cranberry muffins. Grateful for family, nation, and you. Happy Thanksgiving. 🦃

I particularly liked the mailbox toppers. My husband and I went out for a drive yesterday and saw no decorations. (Probably because we mostly kept to the back roads.)

I’ll confess it: I hate blow-up decorations. Now, a plywood turkey or a collection of pumpkins and squash? I’m there. And any radio station that dares Christmas music at this point gets turned off. So there!

There was a lot last year, but all Christmas. I meant I’m seeing a little more for Thanksgiving. Halloween was odd though because some people were still using covid to stop trick or treating.

We rarely have autumn or harvest decorations here. Doesn’t help that our Thanksgiving is before Hallowe’en. And lots of Quebecers don’t even celebrate Thanksgiving at all! How weird is that?

Lots of great fall shots! I’m fascinated by the number of people with stonework or brickwork outside their homes. I think that’s less common where I live, but it’s a nice look. Where I grew up (the Dakotas), most of the homes have basements. All those tornadoes! We don’t have those, but earthquakes are not too far from the mind.

Yes. When I lived in California I very seldom saw stone. Mostly siding. I think stone would not take the undulating effect of earthquakes like wood siding.

Fun tour, John, and it’s not often we see Thanksgiving decorations around here, but we do have pumpkins out front and our fall flag flying. 🙂 Next weekend after Thanksgiving, we’ll be ready to get the Christmas decorations out. We’ll wait to get our tree until mid Dec. though, so it’s still good to New Year’s. Love the menu and music too!

Before I say we don’t do that kind of thing around here, I really should check myself. Because the truth is, I just really don’t pay attention to whether certain peeps are doing it. I just notice the Christmas decorations since they usually start early and are pretty festive.

We’ve got some of those same items (particularly the pumpkins and the inflatable turkeys) here. With all that’s been going on worldwide of late, I think we’d better NOT skip over Thanksgiving!

I recently read an article about a local woman who purchases inflatable turkeys that weren’t bought the day after Thanksgiving to “save” them. She adds them to her yard decorations the next year with the others. I couldn’t even count the number from the picture in the newspaper, lol. Sure was colorful!
