Thursday – A Little Personal – Lucy and Twiggy Get New Beds

“Hey, you guys. Mama bought you both a present.”

“What is it?”

“Follow me.”

“Brand new faux fur beds.”

“Dad. Did you say fox fur?”

“No faux, which means false.”

“Smells false too.”

“Hey, Lucy. Give it a try. It’s very soft. Memory foam and all.”

“You go ahead, little one. I’ll watch.”

“This one is fun to dig in.”

“Yeah, looks that way.”

“I think I’ll take this one.”

“Not sure I like a dug-in bed.”

“You saying you want this one?”

“Can you read my eyes?”

“Trouble here, kids?”

“Lucy wants this bed.”

“Well, she’s the oldest. So let her be happy.”

“Well, okay. You happy now, Lucy.”

“I’ll let you know.”

Later that night.

“What do you think, Lucy?”

  3. A great early Christmas gift!. These look perfect, so cosy. We have a bigger bed and a smaller bed. Guess who sleeps on the bigger bed? The little dog of course. Dot is contented with the smaller one. Lia can be such a bully.

    1. It s always a back and forth situation. Lucy will be asleep on one bed and Twiggy will come over and move her to the other. I keep telling Lucy to give Twiggy a thump when she does that. No good old Lucy just moves. Thanks, Darlene.

  7. Before we had the third dog, I bought new beds for the two we had. They reacted the same way. The younger one explored both and the older one looked at them with… I don’t know. Disdain? Mistrust? He eventually came around, though. Glad to see Lucy did as well. Both girls look very content. When they get up, give them ear scratches from me.

  10. I’m surprised that Twiggy lead the way in the investigation – but they have settled in! Great idea for gifts. Do they always always go to the same one?

    1. Twiggy is very curious. They tend to the same bed but trade once in a while. Sometimes Twiggy moves Lucy no matter where she is. Thanks, Frank.

  16. Those look wonderful. My Dixie Rose had an actual sheepskin in her large carrier, and she seemed to like it. I always knew when winter had arrived, because she’d start spending days as well as nights in it. One like these might have been even more attractive to her.

  20. Twiggy never fails to be adorable. Love their new beds, John, and it appears Lucy and the little one do as well. Were you at all concerned that they would reject them? Or are they usually easy to please?

    Liked by 1 person

    1. We did have a little concern about them not liking the beds but figured they would get used to them. That’s what happened. Twiggy immediate dove in. Lucy took her time. Action that matched their personalities. Last night Lucy was scratching out a nest so I know she is good with them. Thanks, Mary.

  29. Amazing! How wonderful to see both discovering the new beds. It looks like on the seventh photo they had a little controversal about ownership, and who is having the first right to choose. Lol But as we can see, also French bulldogs love to live in peace. 😉 xx Michael

What wonderful beds, dear John! I wish I had a similar one. 😁Twiggy seems so happy! It seems to me she likes both. Faux fur is a very practical solution for winter. Let these beds last long, 🥠🥠🥠🍻

  43. After some initial hesitation they seem to have settled in. I sometimes wonder what an animal, with its finer senses, would think about the ‘faux’ bit. Can they smell it out? Can you tell in any way? Or they don’t care; it is just another toy?
