Views of the Neighborhood – Story Book Walk for Valentine’s Day

Every year the Lakeway Department of Parks and Recreation conducts a storybook walk. This year it was in honor of Valentine’s Day. Here’s our invitation.

Also, in honor of Valentine’s Day, we have a unique Valentine’s dinner catered by Roosevelt’s in Port Aransas. Our entertainment is Chris Botti and Sting.

Here is the menu.

Picture of an old time school bus

So get on the bus.

Today’s book walk is with Todd Parr’s The I Love You Book. Since the book is so long, I will be showing only a few pages. After dinner, you can walk around and view the rest.

I love you when you are silly.

I love you when you hide my keys.

I love you when you are stinky.

I love you when you are squeaky clean.

I love you when we stroll.

I love you when you are shy.

I love you when you share.

But most of all.

Just the way you are.

I hope you enjoyed the book walk and wish you a great week. Have some food and listen to Chris Botti and Sting.

  9. My grandson Eli would LOVE that walk and the book! And what menu this week. Although I do love a good Beef Wellington, I would take the halibut, just for the …. of it!

  11. Wow! Thats always wonderful on your weekends, John! The menu is equisite too. 😉 Only the temperatures where you live – only 4 degrees Celsius in Port Aransas today – are a little low by Texas standards. Right? Dont put Lucy and Twiggy out of the house, or your will get them back like frozen tuna. Lol Best wishes, Michael

    1. Ha ha ha. Yes here we are at 0 C. They know how to run in quickly before they become frozen tuna. 🤣

      1. Really? Zero? Horrible for Texas, right? Keep staying inside, we dont want to have frozen Texanians. Lol xx Michael

  13. I lived in Uvalde and McAllen for a couple of years and it never got quite that cold ‘95-‘97. Brrr the thought even makes me shiver here at north of 43. The tour and the menu are delightful. Enjoy!

I was thinking… boy, Chris Botti is getting rather up close and personal with Trudi (also thinking that’s awfully loud at times so close)… I loved Sting’s response. Great video and so much fun.
