Today, we will go to the park and check on the Friends of the Parks. They have a clean-up day (Although it was last week, we’ll pretend it is today), and we need to check it out. After observing hard work, we have a brunch catered by Moonshine in Austin. The entertainment today will be Chicago.

So hop on, and let’s get going.
There’s the signpost up ahead indicating that we are about to enter the clean-up zone.
The volunteers are gathering at the city park. A little chilly.
Had to get a shot of the shirt. (No, we don’t get shirts)
A new recognition plaque. Friends of the Parks is on there.
A much-needed trailer since there will be trash pickup and tree trimming.
Who you going to call? The Brush Busters.
Tools of the trade featuring a major grass and brush cutter.
Workers and supervisors and one guy getting dressed.
A broken fence post getting Some TLC.
The butterfly garden getting a spring clean-up.
Time to relax with food and entertainment. We have Chicago doing (what else?) Saturday in the Park. I hope you have a great week.
I love that the community gets together to do the cleanup. I´ll have the horseradish crusted salmon. Yum! The synchronicity is uncanny. I had just dug out my Chicago CD and was listening to it when I read your post!

I think you are right. They did have lunch but it was just a tad more conservative than mine. 😁 I hope you have a peaceful Sunday.

Great project, John. Looks like great community spirit in your neighborhood. Bluejeans, Ball caps and beards (I saw a few), my kind of crowd. Perfect song with such great lyrics. Oh, I’ll take the chicken & waffle, hold the chicken. And black coffee.

Hold the chicken? That’s the best part.

I didn’t want anything to interfere with my waffle. Love waffles. Okay, give me the chicken and I’ll take it home to have later during the Daytona race.

Breakfast and a park clean up. Sounds like a good weekend. Now all I would have to do is decide if it is grits and crawdad or salmon and horseradish. Thanks John.

It looks like these people came prepared to do some serious work, John. That brush cutter is a tool I’m pretty sure my wife would veto.
Great music selection today!
I’ll go with the Full Moon Platter. I was going to go with Steak and Eggs but (don’t yell at me) I’m not a fan of grits.

That brush cutter is off limits to anyone over 65. 😁 tThe sad thing is you never had good grits.Creamy grits laced with Parm cheese equals Yum.

No, the wife said no more chainsaw and it was sold the next week. So I was in a tree and the saw was running on the end of a rope which was swinging in the wind. I would have caught it I’m sure.
