A couple of weeks ago, I indicated that a fun walk/run was supposed to take place but was canceled due to the weather. Well, last weekend the event took place, and due to the magic of photography, we can attend today.
Our event is catered by Bouldin Creek Cafe in Austin. Because of many requests, our menu today has vegan options. Our entertainment today is a look back to Janis Joplin.

So jump on the bus.
There’s a signpost up ahead. Looks like we are entering the Fun, Run Zone.
We are here for sure. Here is the flyer announcing the event. (date change and all)
The registration and some walk runners are getting ready.
So we sign up and get a T-shirt and a Bud Light. (Just kidding)
Everyone’s getting to know each other.
More registrations and a view of the lake.
Time for a chat.
The start time is close, but we will go back to the bus and relax with food and entertainment. I hope you all have a wonderful week. Now here is one of my all-time favorite singers, Janis Joplin
Looks like a fun outing with or without the Bud Light. 🙂 It’s nice to see the smiling, mask-free faces. Wishing you a peaceful Sunday!

Looks like a good outing, John. It would be a nice walk for a person and their dog, and the choice of length would be good for a lot of folks. 🙂

You live in a great neighborhood, John, there’s always something going on. Most households in our area have at least one dog and some walk their sweethearts with others. Alone or in a group, it’s always fun to see the four-legged friends. Hope you enjoy the day — beginning with a savory breakfast. 😊

Did I spy Twiggy at the registration desk/table? It looks like the weather was much better. I hope they had a good turn out and everyone had a great time!

I did not stay to the end so I hope so too.

I hope the walk-run had a good turnout, John. The weather looks a little iffy. But a great cause in addition to great exercise. 🙂

Yes. I wish there had been more but as you say the weather was iffy. Thanks, Diana.

I will take the ‘Oven Cake Breakfast’. Make it two. What energy she had, and those German boys leaving their dates to rock with her. How far did you walk? Both dogs join you?

I did not walk. Janis was like a rocket till she flamed out.

Can I get a scrambled eggs and tofu ? Good eating John. The fun run would be postponed again up here. It is 26 with a blustery blown snow. Though there are unsubstantiated rumors of a high of 41. Brrrr…

Looks like a cool day — hope the rain held off. Monkey and I would’ve loved that — he thinks he’s got to greet all people and dogs along our regular walk. Having lived in Port Arthur, I grew to love Janis, too — sorry she left us too soon.

Alright! I love tofu scrambles, especially if yeast flakes are in the mix!
Tofu cutlets, tofu pate, tofu on toast, tofutti, and tofu surprise all work for me!
I’ve never had a tofu shake, or pickled tofu.
Nice walk, i gotta say.
Thank you!
LOVE the song!!!!!!! LOVE Janis!

That makes two of us! The saddest thing Janis did was going to to her ten year high school reunion and being rejected and jeered as she was in high school. I guess it’s the teacher in me that can’t forget that. Here’s to her music!

I remember that too. Sad times for her.
