Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy and Lucy Supervise the Work

“Oh, oh, Little One. Looks like the General Contractor is at work again.”

“General Contractor as in Dad, Right?”

“Yeah. I wonder what he is up to today?”

“I have to hope it is nothing we need to be involved in helping.”

“I think if we follow the electrical cord, we may get an answer.”

“Look at that thing, Lucy. What is it?”

“Well, I can tell it’s a ladder. Looks like there’s a rake and more wire on it.”

“We need to check this out.”

“I think this is where I go lay down on the porch.”

“No, wait. I see what it is. He is charging the security light.”

“Why all the wire, though?”

“I think that is his longest extension cord.”

“Maybe so. By the way, how did you become such an expert?”

“Ever hear of Rube Goldberg? We have our own version.”

“Hey, boss. Nice work on the security light charging.”

“Yeah, we got a glimpse of your jerry-rigged charging station.”

“Just remember they laughed at Marconi. See you two later.”

“Lucy. What do mac and cheese have to do with jerry-rigging?”

“Beats me, Little One. Time for a nap.”

      1. My dog does, too, although he modus operandi is to sprawl where we’re trying to work and get in our way.

  2. Marconi. Wasn’t he the one who stuck a feather in his cap and called it something?

  13. So the girls did not recognize your high tech equipment for what it is ? Obviously it is an alien listening device detector. And you are preparing to upgrade your perimeter defense system so you can enjoy a decent cup of coffee on Saturday mornings. Glad you skipped the shot of the GC’s aluminum cranial shielding unit. Hope it did not scare the girls. Happy Thursday John.

  14. Heh, heh…you guys make the best ‘snoopervisors’ for the upright’s projects. They usually need it.

      1. That works best, but you must be ready to be underfoot at the drop of a hat. 😉

      2. The problem with the boss is he tends to drop tools from high places. We’ve learned to stand off until he is off the ladder then underfoot really works.

  16. Such great helpers (inquisitors). I bet Twiggy would like macaroni (and cheese of course!) Lucy does keep her grounded. The Rube Goldberg apparatus looks dangerous!

  17. What would we do without Lucy and Twiggy? We’d never learn of your machinations, that’s what. Seriously, what the hell were you doing and how did it work?

    1. I had to secure the battery charging device to the camera. The only way to doit was to take up all the slack in the cord hence the rake. Worked beautifully.
