  5. Do you know that the Crepe Myrtle is the official Texas state shrub? Unfortunately, the politicians who chose it didn’t notice that it isn’t native, so a compromise was struck, and Cenizo, or Texas Purple Sage, was named the state native shrub.

  6. Nice pictures. Totally read the title wrong though. Missed the ‘e’ in Crape.

    1. The crepe with an ‘e’ is to eat. Crape (not to be confused with useless junk) is with an ‘a’ 🤣

  12. The crape myrtles are so gorgeous. We have some fabulous mimosa trees in bloom here. Such a colourful time of the year. So great to see Neil Diamond perform. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing him perform live a few years back. Amazing. Sad to hear his health is not so good. I’ll place an order for migas, please. Have a fabulous Sunday, John.

  14. My crepe myrtle is a miniature…actually more like an underfed dwarf. My husband keeps trimming it back until there is not much left to trim.
Love your photos. Thanks for sharing and Happy Father’s Day.

  22. Ours are not (yet) showing any blossoms. I think they were affected by the frost earlier this year and now by the draught.

    1. I think you are right. I think the lack of water forces the tree to forego blooms. Surviving becomes more important than reproduction.
