So let’s go.
Looks like dad had babysitting duties.
A newborn in our Agave bed.
Another in the rocks. (Why stones, you have to wonder?)
Bigger and doing our own thing.
Mama with her twins.
Mama with her only baby on the driveway.
Boys’ night out. (Notice the velvet on the antlers.)
“Hey, you. Contact my agent if you want photos.”
Twins on a sunny morning.
Well looks like the deer are doing fine. I hope you have a good week. Now listen to Big and Rich and enjoy the brunch.
The little Bambies are so cute. You got some great pictures. I like the sound of that quiche! Yummy.

Amazing, that the deer ran so much out of the woods.

These guys walk all around this place. They don’t really care about being hidden.

Good zoom to get the close pics of the youngins’. Boys night out made me laugh. Why the velvet? Nice song.

Deer grow new antlers every year. The velvet around the stubs of antlers provides the blood and oxygen that the antlers need to fully mature.

Hey, they are really living amongst you? That’s great. On the first photo isn’t there a little Flamingo rightside under the bush? 😉 Thanks for this very informative and funny posting, John! Enjoy your weekend! xx Michael

That house has Flamingo along the street. They are plastic decorations.

They all seem to be doing quite well. It would seem the rocks would hinder a young deer in getting to its feet, but who am I to question nature. A wonderful tour today, John, thank you.

They seem to do okay on the rocks. I think the Mama’s believe they blend in better than on the grass.

Maybe the rock is cooler? Great photos, John. We’ve had so many deer running around lately due to all of the construction…it’s kind of sad. Wishing you all a peaceful Sunday.

These deer are so beautiful! We had a deer in our yard a couple of days ago having a little nibble (not of my hostas, thankfully).

We have them fenced out. They would love our stuff.

We have our vegetable garden fenced but not anything else.

Our deer will eat almost anything so if you want it you have to fence it.

The babies are so cute, John. You do have to wonder why they like the rocks. Maybe Charles is right. In any case, I’m glad you spotted them.
I’ll go with that classic breakfast – two eggs (over medium), maple sausage, potato wedges, buttered toast, strawberry preserves. Can we make that sourdough toast?

Of course we can make it sourdough toast.

Hi John, it always amazes me how close the deer in your area come to the houses. They have no fear of humans.
LikeLiked by 1 person
They and humans have been together since the early 60s. These are sixth generation deer who do not know what it is like not to live with humans. Shows synergy can happen.

Yes, indeed.

That quiche sounds pretty good, John. I think the fawns like to sleep on the rocks because they are warm from the sun!

These are always a joy to see! Seems all are doing well. Perhaps they sleep on the rocks because they blend in. How nice to find one in your driveway!

We have a whole family that strolls down the driveway every morning. We have to wait for them to clear before walking Twiggy.

We live maybe 25 feet from a forest preserve and see deer, coyotes, fox and more. Fun
Enjoy

That there is a fun tune, tell you what. I am constantly amazed by the quantity of deer that just roam around willy-nilly, unafraid. Beautiful shots.

With all those deer running around munching, are there bans on roundup and other lawn pesticides etc in your area?
LikeLiked by 1 person
No bans per se. People just don’t use them.

We have a few neighbors but live in a reasonably woody area. I just came in from mowing the lawn on my riding mower, and three deer waltzed by like it was an everyday occurrence—quite a strange feeling.

We are used to the deer for sure. I had to stop and wait for a family to cross the driveway. (In no hurry I might add.)

So cool that you get to see them regularly. My mother’s yard is like that, but they always seem to be bucks.

Paperboy Pancake is a delish way to start the day. I’ll have a pot of black coffee to go with that!
So many deer.. are the people in the area kind to them?
Are the little creatures displaced?
Certainly, you live in an interesting area. Nice!
