Thursday – A Little Personal – Inside Ruckus with Twiggy and Lucy (sort of)

“Come on, Lucy. Ruckus time.”

“For heaven’s sake. I was thinking of a little shut-eye.”

“Aww, come on. I’ll pretend to bite you, and then you chase me.”

“You’re doing a good job of pretending.”

“Be a sport. I’ll run and you chase me.”

“How about I lay here and you chase me.”

“What fun is that. We can’t play outside cause it’s too hot so we need to ruckus inside. You even said that.”

“Oh, me. Fine I’ll get up and you run.”

“Wait a minute. You’re looking to get up on the couch aren’t you.”

“Well it does look inviting.”

“COME ON, LUCY. Inside rukus was your idea.”

“Can’t a lady change her mind?”

“What’s all the noise here?”

“Gee dad. Lucy said we should ruckus for exercise and now she won’t.”

“Don’t listen to her, Boss. It’s naptime now.”

“So, Dad. Is there anything you can do to get Lucy moving?”

“Twiggy you have to respect the fact that Lucy is older and needs her beauty sleep.”

“Careful, Boss. You’re getting close to crossing the line.”

“Between you and me, Dad. I think Lucy doesn’t want to ruckus cause I always win.”

“I heard that Little One. A couple of winks and I’ll make you eat those words.”

  1. Twiggy is so cute, but as the smaller one i am sure she is self-esteemed to the max. Thanks for sharing the fun, John! Have a nice day! xx Michael

  5. How true to human life! We older ones need our rest/nap times! Some day Twiggy will want more naps too. Love the facial expressions on Twiggy.

  12. It seems to me that Lucy knows the couch is a safe zone from Twiggy’s antics. 🙂 Their expressions and your dialogue are perfect! And YES to inside ruckusing (new word). Thanks for sharing, John!

  14. Adorable photos, John. I think Lucy will be ready for a tussle after a nap, but she’ll still be reluctant compared to Twiggy. The years do slow us down.

    Liked by 2 people

    1. Yes they do. Lucy is significantly slower than she was two years ago. Of course, she is fourteen. 14 X 7 = 98

  26. What great photos, John! I absolutely love the last one of Twiggy, and the first few (showing the attempted ruckus) reminds me of when Raji and Junior … same sort of dynamic too as Junior is old and usually does not want to play 😉

    1. Being in love with them has it’s two edges. Lucy is over 14 years and each day is a gift. I know it will kill me when those days end. I make it a point to enjoy the time we have left and to be very thankful for it. Loved your comment, Susannah. I hope you have a super weekend.
