The Producer and I had a great idea to depict the dog days of summer with mailbox toppers. Well, guess what? In all of Lakeway, there are only a few. We did soldier on and found those available. Today on our outing we are going to be catered by Via 313 of Austin Inside Out. Our entertainment is The Band Perry.

Let’s go
Our first is made out of metal.
Cute little dachshund with a University of Texas bandana
Pug anyone?
Happy dog
Another pug
A bulldog from Craig Boyack’s ( Author of the Hat series.) house.
A Shar Pei
Couldn’t help but taking a shot of the hippo and bird since we ran out of dogs.
Cute hedgehog.
And last a baby deer.
So have some pizza and enjoy The Band Perry.
I love the doggie mailbox toppers. So cute. Enjoyed that version of Fat Bottom Girls. Thanks and Happy Sunday!!

I thought they did a good job on the song too. My fave is Queen but they did it proud. Thanks, Darlene.

I love the cute ending with the hedgehog, deer and hippo. They must get hot in Texas during the summer too!!

I think they do. Thanks, GP.

Well I think we are used to it. We have above 100 degree temperatures forecasted through August 13. 🥵 Glad you enjoyed the tour. Thanks, Lori.

Nice
We have NO mailbox toppers here. Maybe some bird stuff ???
Did your dogs go with you to see the sights? Those stone dogs might caused them to behave better when they got home 😀
And nice touch on all the pizza and certainly Dans drink.
Happy Sunday.

John,
I’ll go right to the margarita. Can you swipe that Happy Dog and keep it until I get there. I thought you might have selected some music from Three Dog Night. Great pics!

I need to consult with you. That would have been great. Never thought of it. Thanks, Steve.

A mark of a true genius is when he admits his faux pas and corrects it. Or, in this case, amends it. It’s still Sunday and thousands on the west coast haven’t seen it yet, so it’s not too late. Besides, it would be a first and I’m sure that you could cover it with a nice story. Your ‘bar friend’ could help. I’ll be checking my inbox😉👀🤓

I always like seeing these mailbox toppers, John. We have nothing like that here although at the Jersey shore, many people have nautical-styled mailboxes (whales, ships, etc.) Happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday to you, Barbara. You may not have toppers but you have the Jersey shore.

Yes we do – I don’t live there now but I spent most summers there growing up.

Clever idea for the dog days of summer! I love the dachshund the best. Good food as always! Stay cool. Can’t believe we are going into August already without even a tropical storm to bring some rain.

We do need the rain so a nice tropical storm would be nice. (Look out Houston.)

Good way to open the day John. Good food, good tour. I will have to give the song a listen later. We are off to a casual start. Not late. Casual. Otherwise what is the point of being retired ? PS apricot perogies are a good start too…

Obvi I’ll have the Herbivore! I’ve always wanted to try a Detroit style pizza, ever since that Detroit style pizza place opened up a couple of blocks from here, last year.
Fab video!!! Helps that pizza get down…. to my bottom!
I never heard of mailbox toppers before? Huh!
Great band & video. Thank you!!

We have mail box toppers all over this place. They are fun. The nice thing about my pizza is it works on thinning the bottom.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Right! Thinning the bottom… so your pizza is made from water?
Okay… maybe a tofu & tomato pizza, no crust and only comes in 4″circles.

Or virtual pizza.

they might be few in number, John, but they are substantial. The only thing on the top of our mailbox is our house number. Oh well.
I’ll have the original pepperoni.

Well, it’s 8 a.m. here on a Monday morning and I’m hungry for pizza and off to walk before it gets too hot – to see if I can find any mailbox toppers. I’m quite sure I won’t have the success you did.

The walk before the furnace come on is a good idea for sure. We do the same. 😊

I’m always up for pizza. We don’t have mailbox toppers in our neighborhood – unless you count the bird poop. And they seem to love ours more than anyone else’s on our street.

SOOO cute, John! And I love the dachshund one the most! (I have a brown statue very like it standing guard over our last dachshund, Maksim Hotdogski, who is buried in our backyard, beside our piebald dachshund, Hairy Potter.)
Of course, the hippo, hedgehog, and deer didn’t fool me for a minute, but I enjoyed seeing ALL of these. Thanks for sharing with us. 😀
