Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy and Lucy with Toys

“Hey, Lucy. Want to play tug ‘o war?”

“Umm, I was thinking more about who can keep their eyes closed the longest.”

“Oh, come on. This thing is fun. It is almost indestructible.”

“It is the ‘almost’ part that worries me.”

“So that’s a ‘no’ then?”

“I guess we could consider it. What else is there?”

“We could go outside and hunt pumas.”

“We just did that. Besides, I don’t think it is puma hunting season.”

“Well, let me see. We could always play with cheeseburger.”

“You put your tooth through the squeaker. Now it doesn’t make any noise.”

“Where did I put that big chuck-it ball?

“It’s in the basket. You need someone to throw it, though. Remember the opposable thumb lesson from school?”

“Yeah, okay. Looks like it is break time.”

“Oh, come on. Look at all these toys. Surely you can find one to play with.”

“I made several suggestions, and you rejected them all. Also, don’t call me Shirley.”

“I merely pointed out some of the pitfalls of your suggestions.”

“Okay then. You make a few suggestions, and I’ll do the pitfall point-out job.”

“I guess you have a point. Okay, whatever you say to play with we’ll play.”

“I bet I can keep my eyes closed longer than you.”

Hilarious, John. They might like an old cardboard box, that solution always seemed to work in our household. 😄

Love the shout-out to Leslie Nielson. And I adore how Twiggy always has puma-hunting in mind. But I’m with Lucy… the closed-eye game is a favorite of mine.

Give the girls belly rubs from me.

  26. What a fun visit with the girls, John.
It’s great that Twiggy can use those stairs. When my cats started getting older I bought a similar set — they wouldn’t touch them, I think because of the “give” in the foam. Now Crystal finally agreed to use some that are like foldable storage boxes. Not very sturdy, but apparently more cat-acceptable than the others. Who knows… I’m only the human servant. 😉 Hugs on the wing.

    1. It is all personal preference. Twiggy loves her stairs. We are not fond of small dogs jumping down from couches. Too much stress on the legs. Thanks for the visit, Teagan

Good news Lucy and Twiggy! I suggested to your dad that he turn the Mosler into a grassy hill with flowers, for the puma to hide behind.
This should give you an attack advantage while the puma is stalking you.

  39. I think they could do with travel to India to get them to expand their horizons beyond pumas and get some more excitement. 8 cheetahs have recently been imported from Namibia to seed a species that went extinct here some seventy years back. But then, they could go to Namibia as well 🙂
