Today we are going to a concert in the park in Lakeway. The Band of the Hills which is a community band for all ages is having a concert in the park. We are being catered by Buffalina Due pizza of Austin. Our entertainment is Chicago.
Menu
marinara – tomato, garlic, oregano.
margherita – tomato, mozzarella, basil, parmesan.
calabrese – tomato, mozzarella, basil, salami, serrano, garlic, parm.
fresca – mozzarella, prosciutto piccante, arugula, lemon oil, parm.
taleggio – mozzarella, sausage, scallion, parmesan.
pepperoni – tomato, mozzarella, oregano, parmesan.
red pie – tomato, double garlic, double parmesan, chili flake, oregano.
vodka arrabiatta – vodka sauce, fontina, mozzarella, garlic, oregano, parmesan, chili flake, black pepper.
four cheese – mozzarella, taleggio, fontina, parmesan.
mustard greens – sausage, garlic confit, lemon oil, pecorino.
apple pie – parm cream, fontina, moss, blue cheese.
eggplant parmesan – tomato, garlic, oregano, chili flake, mozzarella, basil.
veggie supreme – tomato, sungolds, mushrooms, peppers, onions, basil, garlic, chili oil.
mushroom – mozzarella, taleggio, spiced creme fraiche, red onion, parmesan.
pickle pie – mozzarella, fontina, oregano, giardiniera, chili flake, chili oil.
So hop on the bus and let’s get rolling.
Here is a boy scout and his sister guiding in the crowds.
Lakeway Justice center is the location.
We are on time. Looks like a Baritone player is a little late.
Looking at the heron sculpture in the distance gave rise to an interesting view of instrument cases.
Don’t worry about donating. You’re covered.
The director is beginning the concert.
We need to find a seat.
Not here.
Maybe we can sit with the Elk.
Here we go. A nice comfortable spot with the chessplayers
I hope you had a good time. Sit back and enjoy the concert and food. Chicago wants to play one song for sure. I hope you have a great week.
Thanks for inviting us, John… what a menu!

I miss attending musical concerts, and if they were outside in our area, I’d leap to attend. Thank you for sharing the Lakeway experience. Have a great day — music and food, perfection. 😊

That’s a good-sized community band! Kudos to the community for stepping up to provide the music. We also enjoy community concerts in the park during the summer. Good choice for a closing song.

I tried to get Chicago to sing Sunday in the Park but they gave me an emphatic No

Looks like fun. Though I’m confused on the pizzas. Apple pie doesn’t have apples and there are no pickles in the last one?

They have some kind of naming convention that is known to them. Go figure.

I see. Kind of like how diners up here name sandwiches after celebrities.

Sounds like a fun outing. And thanks for “Saturday in The Park.” Chicago was in Tyler a couple of weeks ago. We didn’t go, but I’m sure they put on a good show.

I think they always put on a good show. This video is form later years and I think they still have it. Thanks, Joan.

That photo of the cases looks like a musical funeral. Wonder how it would look in black & white. Great reason to get outside.

Black and white would be spooky I’m sure.

Your community even supplies culture. You two picked a great place to move to.

The Producer is 100% responsible. We decided to move after Hurricane Harvey and I stayed home with the pups and she went house hunting. She called and said I think I’ve found the perfect place. My response was only, “Buy it.” I first saw our new house when we moved in. I figured if it was good enough for her it was more than good enough for me. She did a great job.

I seem to recall you blogging that sequence of events. The Producer chose well indeed!

What a wonderful reason to go to the park. We have had concerts like this on the grounds of an old school (now apartments for elderly) and they’ve proven to be so popular the town is building a venue for them behind Town Hall.
I’ll have a slice, or two of pepperoni. Thanks John.

Thanks for sharing, John. Outdoor concerts are a pleasure, and it’s nice your community put this one on. We attended an outdoor concert of the Lansing Symphony Orchestra; the best orchestra I think I’ve ever heard live.

The Lansing Symphony was great in my day too. I think having the university close helps.

What a wonderful event, dear John! The music is vital for us, humans! What about the dogs? Do they like singing or at least listening…or only barking style? 😊🍻🍤🍤🍤

Both Twiggy and Lucy like classical music. I makes them very calm. We play it when the trash collector arrives. (One of Twiggy’s favorite barking targets.)

😂😂😂 What a wonderful idea, dear John! You save the humanity! Grisha was fond of the French music, including the baroque one, the Scottish & the Irish folklore. He liked dancing under these tunes. 😁😁😁

Love the song!!
You sure live in a neat neighbourhood.
I’ll have the margherita pizza, no parm!
I’m taking my pizza and grabbing a chair, although I want to sit alone.
Lots of places away from people, so no probs.
I brought a sketch pad and pencils, so I can draw to the music!
Thanks, John!
