Thursday – A Little Personal – Twiggy and Lucy Take Time.

“so, what’s up today, Little One?”

“I thought we could take a stroll in the garden. The rain has refreshed everything.”

“That sounds like a great idea.”

“Well, you have to consider the source.”

“Speaking of that. You are not the usual source of a cultural experience.”

“Yeah, I know. I just thought it would be fun to take time to smell the roses.”

“The roses are not blooming now, but I get your point.”

“Look at this pot full of flowers.”

“Yes, it is nice. There are some pentas, marigolds, and a potato vine.”

“I guess I never took the time to appreciate them.”

“We all do that sometimes, Little One.”

“Can we eat these?”

“That kind of appreciation could get you grounded. I’m loving this climbing thingy.”

“The other plants look great, too.”

“Yes, they do. Did you see the ones hanging in the mountain laurel?”

“Um. I think so. Couldn’t hurt to take another look.”

“See ’em over there?”

“Yes, I see them. The last time I looked at them, that pesky squirrel was running amuck.”

“Well, he’s not there now, so enjoy them.”

“Come to think about it. This is a great way to spend a morning.”

“You are so right, Little One. My job is finished here. Enjoy.”

“I’ll be right in. I’m going to take a few moments with my thoughts.”

“I think a few moments is all it will take.”

“What?”

“Nothing. See you later.”

I was feeling very zen, John, then had to giggle.

  7. favorite line…consider the source. I love the sass that comes out of her.

That first long shot showing the two chairs is so inviting. I always marvel at your yard and how lucky Lucy and Twiggy as well as the roses and marigolds to have such a place to themselves.. 🙂

    2. It was put together with them in mind for sure. They love the turf but also seem to like the stones as a change of pace. Twiggy is especially fond of the patio. She will sit under the umbrella for hours if the weather is just right. That would be slight breeze and temps below 90 but above 70. 😁

  39. Ah there’s nothing like a refreshing visit with you two!
Although it would be nice to see the pesky squirrel.
I’m a few days late, so I’m sure Twiggy’s thoughts have resulted in some fabulous take aways.
So, I thought of you 2 last night. I picked up a large package of dried linguine. UnfortunatelyI had already opened it, and picked it up, upside down.
The linguine splayed all over the kitchen floor, just like this old game called “Pick Up Sticks”. Yes, sticks! I know dogs like fetching sticks. Why not jus pick them up. There were hundreds of them. We could have played for hours!

Anyway, say hello to your dad for me!

    1. Goodness Miss Resa. You could have called Twiggy and I and we would have had that linguine cleaned up before you could say, “Get the broom.” Our dad does that a lot. He started taping the box of pasta after it is opened so that it doesn’t happen. He has interesting words when it does though. Makes Twiggy and me laugh a lot. 🧽❤️ 🐃❤️ 🐆❤️ 💋❤️ 🐂❤️ woof
