“Whoa, It’s chilly out here.”
“It is for sure, Little One. I wonder what happened.”
“Whattya mean ‘what happened?'”
“It was so warm yesterday.”
“Well, this is Texas, after all.” Where you going?”
“There’s some sun over there. I’m going to see if it’s warmer.”
“Any warmer?”
“Maybe a little, but it’s hard to say.”
Why don’t you get into the big sun?”
“Now that’s a good idea.”
“Why are you walking this way. The big sun is behind you.”
“I know, but I thought you and I could play over there.”
“You go ahead, and I’ll join you.”
“You are not just saying that.”
“No, here I come. Would rather be inside, though.”
“Come on, it is definitely warmer here.”
“Seems a little warmer but not up to my standards.”
“Let’s run around. Maybe that will help.”
“Uh, running this time of year is another challenge.”
“Maybe you would like to run back to the house.”
“Now you’re talking. Can you say bee-line?”
“Hey, Dad. What’s the temperature out here anyway.”
“My trusty watch says 39 degrees Fahrenheit. That’s 3.8 degrees Celsius.”
“Okay, that’s it. Inside for me.”
“I’ll be right behind you. I didn’t realize it was that cold.”
“I think I can see my breath.”
“Oh, stop. It has to be much colder for that. Come on, Dad. We need in.”
I’m with the girls! Seek the sunlight! Stay warm, John.

That has to be rough in Texas. Time for dog sweaters.

Twiggy has been wearing hers on walk. Lucy hates hers and would rather shiver.

38 degrees is too cold even in the sunshine. Hope it warms up soon for you. Our high yesterday was 78, which is just perfect for my aching bones.

Ours do not like the rain either. Lucky for us we have an overhang so even in the rain they can still get ‘er done.

That’s cold for TX. It’s in the 20s here this morning. Bond usually likes to go on the screened porch after his breakfast, but he didn’t step one paw out the door, lol.

Being in the sun helps with the cold sometimes, but not always. Looks like the girls have a solution. Go inside. 🙂

Looking for the Big Sun seems perfectly reasonable, but making a run for indoors is even moreso. My favorite weather dude says real cold may show up in 7-10 days; we’ll see. In the meantime, keep those sweaters where you can find them.

We have them within reach. Thanks, Linda. We are looking at the seventies for the weekend

Let those girls in, John. We haven’t hit 39 yet. When that bell rings, I need to rake a few stragglers into the last leaf bag of the season.

39 is colder than here! We’ve only had nights below freezing a couple of times!
I’ve wanted to ask you, since the dogs I presume go outside to take care of business, how do you keep your yard clean?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Thanks for asking,Noelle. The turf has an antibacterial layer deep in the tufts. Our dogs have a diet that means their duty is firm so there is no real mess. For the urine we rinse the turf as it occurs and also spray it once a month with a product that breaks the urine down so there is no smell. The yard also gets a twice a week wash with the sprinkling system. It is work but worth it.

Thanks for the interesting information! I figured the turf had something special about it and that you sprayed it down. I think Lucy and Twiggy are lucky dogs!

The girls have the right idea…in they go! It’s actually 39 for our high today, but with the wind it feels more like 29…sun or no sun. And it was 85 for them on Tuesday? Yikes. Saturday it was 70 here, and tonight it’s supposed to be 25. At least we had a bit more time to get acclimated.

Twiggy, Lucy that is cold! It is 2C here, 34 in your weather.
BUT it feels like -4C due to wind chill. Most dogs wear winter coats here. Some dogs wear boots.
I am quite excited about Tuesday. It’s supposed to be cloudy, +6C (feels like +4C).
That sounds like a day for a walk!
Okay, stay cozy in the house, and watch out for pumas that are cold. They might try to sneak into the house!
I leave this hand for your dad. This hand has no wrist, so he can’t put his watch on it!
