It is Wednesday Story day again and last week we left Ben in the emergency room with the possibility of being alone with the doctor. Mrs. Worthe reluctantly left him and went to the waiting room. Let’s join Ben and the doctor as the physician does a preliminary examination of Ben’s wound.
“So let me see. You did an excellent job of keeping the wound clean.”
“Yes, Mrs. Worthe er Mother Worthe helped me with it.”
“You say you were jumped by a group of thugs?”
“Yes. I was going to the 7-11 for a Big Gulp.”
“One of them shot you?”
“I think so. I pretty much was in shock. I pretty much fainted.”
“I can imagine. Let me look at your head. Did they hit you and that’s the reason you were unconscious?”
“No, I don’t think so. To be honest, I was terrified, and I believe the stress got to me.”
“Hmm. Fainting under stress is usually a symptom of an underlying neurological problem. I think we had better do some tests.”
“Tests? What kind of tests?”
“Oh, nothing too invasive. An MRI to start. We need to make sure you don’t have something blocking the blood to your brain.”
“Something like what?”
“Now, no need to worry. A little blockage or something. If there is something, we can take care of it pretty quickly. Now about this wound.”
“Yes. What about it?”
“It looks like you were shot at a pretty close range. There is a burn around the wound which usually means the gun was close.”
“Well, Doctor er ah…”
“Wente.”
“I just can’t give you a lot of information.”
“Well, I‘m going to clean this wound out and then get it x-rayed. I do want to see what kind of bone damage we have. You may need surgery. you know if I didn’t know better I would say this wound was self-inflicted.’
“W-why would you say that doctor?”
“The shot came from no more than two feet. It is almost as if the gun was held right over your foot. Here stretch out your arm. See, about two feet from your foot. Is there anything you want to tell me?”

“Actually Dr, come to think of it, one of them was a midget…”

This is reminding me why Sheldon’s complicated, over the top lies never work in Big Bang Theory.

I’m sure Ben can pull this off. It’s not that he’s capable, it’s the odd chance that he’s due for a win.

Of course, he is used to playing with a deck of 51.

Uh-oh, busted! Well, there’s plenty of guilt and blame to go around in this cast of characters, John!

I’m afraid Ben can’t pull it off. The doctor is far too smart for him and will figure things out in no time, maybe not the exact details first time around. ‘Mother’ will slip up sure as shooting. 😀 😀 😀
