      Houses around here are on the market for five days and get multiple offers. Usually five figures over asking price is where they end up.

        Here, too… I wouldn’t say five figures over but so many are being over paid. Makes me wanna kick myself for not hanging on to my former house and buying this one that I do not like…

    Oh, dear. I would never be brave enough to buy something sight unseen. Of course, even a picture can be misleading, especially if it’s an old one before the tree fell on it! We looked at places here in Spain that didn’t look anything like the picture. Glad we waited until we got here.

      The last two houses that we bought we found on the internet. Of course, we visited but could have easily bought them sight unseen. In fact our current house I never saw until we moved in. (The Producer was tasked with finding and buying. I had full faith she would do a great job and she did.)

    There are some houses on the market around here that are selling and aren’t in much better condition than that one. Being on the train line to New York City, caused more than a few New Yorkers to snatch up houses quickly during the great escape portion of the pandemic, without a lot of thought, I fear

      We have bidding wars around here. The house inventory is so low that stuff sells in a few hours. Usually over asking.

        Thank you for the information. I could see our city council going into fits of hysteria over something like this. They would have nixed it on a violation of the height restrictions. I thought it interesting that the original owners son was against being declaired a heritage site.
