Friday is here at last. Today’s margarita is going to be replaced by a steaming cup of mulled cider, I just can’t place an ice-cold drink in your hand when you have a glove on it. I suppose y’all have the same weather issues so we should be glad we can get into the warm to enjoy something hot as we begin to look forward to the holidays. Today’s JohnKu (a term coined by Words4jp) celebrates our ability to control our comfort but asks that we think of those less fortunate including the fur people. The title is Cold and hope you enjoy it.

Friday time again. Looks like we might actually make it to the end of the week. This week has been one of amazing rain. I think it started last Friday and has been off and on for the whole week. We also had a cold front move in so we have been under the gun chill wise. I think the temperature got to eighty degrees only once this week. For us weak island dwellers, this is a real cold snap. It is pretty funny seeing the brave tourist types from up nawth walking down the beach with shorts and short sleeve shirts while we natives look like we are living on an ice flow. This week’s JohnKu (a Term coined by Words4jp) looks at the weather.

Friday at last. This week I had the occasion to walk on the beach and see some of the greatest sun flashes in the surf. I tried to take a video, but it didn’t turn out well since I kept getting the sun in the picture which caused the image to blaze out of focus. I grabbed my trusty iPhone and at least got a picture. The flashes looked like an ocean full of paparazzi all taking photo of the shore. I know this picture doesn’t do the scene justice but hopefully you can get an idea. Today’s JohnKu (A term coined by Words4jp) is about the scene. The title is Flash. I hope you like it and have a great weekend. Here’s your margarita. Don’t get caught at work. Okay?

Wonderful Friday. Such a nice day. Only eight more hours and we can kick back and enjoy the fruits of our labor. I really like lime as a fruit of labor. You can squeeze it, add it to agave distillate juice with some orange liqueur and agave nectar. Toss it into a shaker and shake till ice-cold. Pour into a mason jar, add a slice of lime. Put your feet up while on the veranda and tell the world how much you have earned this little gem. I only have about 1000 words until I can do that later today. Hope you all have a good weekend. I didn’t forget the JohnKu (a term coined by Words4jp). It is called rest. Hope you like it.

Yes, it is Friday at last. Seems just a short time ago it was Monday. I know….delusional. Each week gets me closer to the finish of my third book. (Well, really my forth. The first is still holding the laundry room door open) It is this stage of writing that begins to work on the nerves. The ending is clear and all that has to be done is to work up to it in a reasonably organized way. What happens? Some character decides to extend some piece of the story and now there is chaos in the writer’s room. Damn Just when I thought the whole thing was a done deal a new twist pops up. I guess it is better this way than having no way to get to the end. Today’s JohnKu (a term coined by Words4JP) is about surprises. Hope you like it.

Friday is here. Okay everyone. Today’s margarita special is made with freshly squeezed key lime juice, Tapatio Tequila Blanco, Cointreau, and agave nectar. It is shaken and served over chipped ice. You can elect to have it blended till frozen and also salt or no salt on the glass. With the margarita I am offering a selection of salsa including green chilies, peach and spicy tomatillo.  So step up and place your order. It is Friday after all. Oh yes, today’s JohnKu (a term coined by Words4jp)  is titled Rest and I hope you like it.

Friday is here again and it is definitely time to lift a margarita. Well, we might have to wait until the day is over. I had an occasion to get a comment on another blog to the effect that I had not offered a margarita to this person when they visited. I need to correct that. Just leave a message and I will give you a top shelf tequila, orange liqueur, key lime juice, agave nectar, margarita on the rocks served in a pint mason jar with or without salt. Also, I have available peach salsa, with white and blue corn chips. There is a little cheese dip well. So if any of this interests you step up and place your order. Friday again. Not sure, but I think this has been one fast week. If seems just yesterday that I did the last Friday post but here it is a whole week later. Makes me wonder where the time goes. I find now my time is pretty well-marked by the number of words written. Of course, doing a blog also give some perspective of how fast the time goes by. I usually do the three regular blog posts which act as mileposts for the week. Monday is the Top Ten Things Not to do, Wednesday is the hump day story and Friday is the JohnKu (a term coined by Words4jp). I do throw in a Tuesday and Thursday blog if there is something going on like a blog tour or maybe some information I want to share. On Saturday, I tie into the Stream of Consciousness prompt. As I sit writing it now occurs to me that in essence I am blogging six days a week. Damn, no wonder the time flies. I gotta think about this for a minute. In the meantime, here is the JohnKu for  this week. It is titled Having Fun, I hope you like it.

Friday is here. Happy days are here again, the sky above is clear again. Happy days are here again. Looks like we may all make the week. At least we have a good shot from this point. Eight hours and a margarita is mine. I have noticed a number of posts this week talking about the fall colors. Sitting here on the Gulf I really don’t get much change except for the lawn starts to turn pale with the shortening days. I do notice our Boxer Lucy is sleeping a little later since the sunrise is getting later each day. I think if we lived further North (like Scandinavia) she would never go to sleep in the summer. Today’s JohnKu (a term coined by Words4jp)  is about season change. The title is Stay. I hope you like it

Well, here we are at the close of the week. It is fun to finally get here isn’t it? I think Friday might be my second most favorite day. Saturday is number one, but Friday is a close second. On the Texas coast this will be the first weekend after labor day. This means all the tourists have gone home and we get to have our beaches and town back to normal. It then becomes very peaceful and relaxed. There are only four thousand people on our island. This number can go as high as twenty thousand during the peak crush. So it’s no wonder things seem quiet. I have lived in hugely big cities in my life and I must say it is a treat to experience the peace and quiet of a small town. Todays John Ku (a term coined by Words4jp) hopefully catches the spirit. Hope you like it.
