That is quite the airport, John, and interesting that it’s called an airpark. This post had me looking up the rules. Ol’ Blue Eyes’ song sure fit the post. 😊

Thank you, Tim. It is called an Air Park since it is surrounded by homes with hangers. Have a great one. 😁

I have a cousin who lived at an airpark in Kansas for a while, and friends who lived outside Comfort had several hangars and a grass runway for guys who were into experimental aircraft and flew to different airports for lunch now and then.
I laughed at the caution to watch for deer on the runway. When I lived in Liberia, we used a Cessna STOL for visits to bush clinics, and every time we did, we had to buzz the runway to get the soccer players off.

What a story, Linda. Those Cessna’s are amazing. Got a laugh out of the buzzing.

I’ve loved small planes ever since my uncle took us up in his several times when I was a kid! I took to the air with a pilot friend of mine in a small Cessna not too long ago as research for one of my books – still love flying that way! And of course, skydiving meant a small plane to get us high enough to jump.
Salmon today, please!

You are amazing, Noelle. Didn’t know you skydived.

Love how the first rule is to watch out for deer.

There are plenty of them for sure.

Watch for deer on the runway. Seems like Ron White had a standup bit about that a few years ago. Someone here developed one of those air park subdivisions with hangars instead of garages. I don’t think it ever took off. 🥁

John, I’m glad you got such nice shots of the planes and especially, of their cockpits and controls. These pictures reminded me of the only time I’ve flown in one of those two-seaters — it was scary, but absolutely spectacular!

There is nothing like a flight in a small plane to give you the feeling of flying.

I want a little bit of everything off that menu to start with. As for the planes, I love the older ones most of all. Just like the old cars, so much character to them.
All that, AND the perfect song!

Do the homes have hangers for the planes like a garage? Beautiful blue skies to show off those planes. Thanks for so many food choices. Perfect music.

Yes the homes have hangers and paved drives that lead to the runway.

My nephew-in-law would enjoy this! He’s a pilot. Last week, he flew between Cleveland and London and back. It’s his dream job that I’m glad came true for him! He’s also a professor at the pilot program at a college. His final assignment is what they use for the class, his professors were so impressed with it.

hahahahaha … When Greg’s housemate heard that I’d never flown in a plane before (not in any plane at that point in time) she insisted that he give me a barf bag “just in case.” Instead of throwing up, I giggled through the whole flight 😉
