Friday JohnKu for Week’s End

Friday is here at last. Seems like an eternity since Wednesday but that ‘s how it goes in the scheme of things. Sometimes the weeks go by in a flash and sometimes it feels like a five-day root canal. Unless you have a secret answer I have not been able to pinpoint just what makes time fly or standstill. It has to be all mental. Of course, I could think of occasions when time would fly and others where it would stand still. The time fly one is easy. Picture falling on a subway track and there is no way out except to run to an egress door which  is five hundred feet away. Can you guess how fast the time will fly until the next train arrives? You can bet it is already here with you under it. Okay let’s turn away from that scene and go to one where time moves so slowly it seems to stand still. How about when you accidentally kick over the step-ladder and you are holding on the eve of your house and you have called for help. The help answers to the effect they are coming. How long does it take for them to get there and put the ladder back? Almost forever and just maybe after you thunder down into the hibiscus with a dull thud.  The point is; has anyone given us anything more scientific to measure this stuff? Today’s JohnKu (a term coined by Words4jp) deals with science and is titled Answers. Have a nice weekend.

That song always reminds me of the film ‘Strictly Ballroom’. It was the title song I think. 🙂

I have the same problem with weekends … they always fly by, even if we stay home and just take care of chores. Whereas my time in the workplace seems to move as fast as molasses in the snow 😉 Happy Friday, John. Love the Johnku.

Molasses in the snow is a great visual. You must know that the time god has a warped sense of humor. If you like something, time flys and visa versa.

This is such an appropriate post to how I am feeling – my son leaves for school today. Yesterday were the goodbyes. It seems like the summer flew by – actually, it drove by:). Even my boys are noticing how quickly time is flying by. I cannot recall thinking like that at their age. Is the planet moving faster or is it the earthlings that are moving faster? I am thinking it is the latter.

I agree on Earthlings moving faster. It seems like yesterday when the little ones were so little. Thanks. 😊

Time does seem to fly when you’re having fun. Maybe time’s speed depends on how much you’re paying attention to it.

Hummm. I like that. The theory of attention to time.More = slow, Less = fast.

It’s probably why clock watching is a bad idea. Always looked like the second hand would jump back every now and then.
