This week was a doozy. I spent it all editing my fourth book and am not finished yet. I also have been working on the screen porch which badly needed an upgrade. The builder put in screens with aluminium frames and they almost melt in the salt spray. I have done replacement frames and find those are melting as well. The only thing left is a makeover with vinyl frames. I am surprised at how little time I have to work on things like a screened porch. After all the blogs, e-mails, tweets, edits, short stories, and post visits I find I have about an hour a day. I guess it’s better than nothing. I also have a patient spouse who understands. (Lucky) Today’s JohnKu (a term coined by Words4jp) is about time. I hope you like it.

When time seems endless,
The joy of relaxation . . .
Gives way to deadline.

I’d be interested to know how the vinyl frames work. I abandoned large custom windows on our porch for regular double-hung jobs when I redid the siding on our house. Good luck finding the time.

Look up Screentite (or Screen tight) on Google. it will give you an idea of the construction. So far so good.

Good to know about the vinyl frames. We have aluminum and while salt isn’t a problem (we’re about a couple of hours or so from the coastline), they get funky and are hard to clean. Plus they didn’t hold up well against cat spray 😉 (Our first cat, Joshua, sprayed A LOT although he was neutered.)

I had a beloved cat named Higgens who loved to spray everything. She was spayed but still needed to make her marks. (She wiped out a hamper full of my shirts one time when I made her mad) Have a great weekend

lol … for some reason, my husband’s shoes and clothes were often the target of Josh’s spraying. He also destroyed a number of books and our carpet. Sixteen years until (ironically) he succumbed to kidney disease. My big bad boy.

As did Higgens at 15. RIP Higgens and Josh

If only there were more hours in the day. Though most of us would probably use them for sleep. Enjoy the weekend.

I would, but the kid seems to have flushed the candle down the toilet.

So true. I have some gutter cleaning to get to, in the midst of all the rest… 😫

I used to have gutters in Marin. Full of leaves and about a fifty foot drop. Scared me to death.

Yeah, in this new place I’m definitely inclined to hire someone. Way up high, and I’m a klutz.

Excellent Johnku John. Good luck with the porch. I don’t envy you, I am absolutely useless at doing anything practical with the exception of doing up shoelaces. Enjoy the Margarita.

Seems that even in retirement, we end up short on that time thing. Good luck with your porch repairs!

Let’s see. Four books in three years. Not sure this retirement thing is working out.

John, you’re working too hard for a “retired” person. 🙂
I had a bereavement this morning, so I’ll have to catch up with your posts when i’m better able to absorb what i’m reading… Hugs.

So sorry. At times like these you need to concentrate on you. My stuff will always be there but the thoughts of the one who has passed are most important now. *Hugs*
