Not the real cover since there is no cover at this point.
As some of you know I have been busy writing full-time for the past three years. I have completed what I refer to as the John Cannon Trilogy. Right now, the only one that has been published is the first titled My GRL. The second His Revenge is with the publisher, and the third Our Justice is sitting on my computer waiting for the second to be published. The point of this explanation is I have no idea when my second book is on the schedule for release. I have continually queried the publisher and have received several dates all of which have effectively passed. My contractual arrangement has actually locked me into the three books so unless the publisher has no desire to publish the books I will have to wait. I have asked the question about desire but still have not received the answer. If I do get a response telling me the publisher is not interested I will probably self-publish.
What I would like to do while I’m waiting is have those who have an interest read the second book. I have to warn everyone the only edit done so far is mine. You can believe I’m not the best editor on the block. I’m looking for those who would enjoy reading the book and to provide any suggestions regarding plot holes or other obvious problems. Also, any Beta reader type comments would be appreciated. I think the number that will be right is five. I will answer each e-mail and thank you in advance for your help. You need not have read the first to read this one.
Here is a blurb:
America loves John Cannon its newest hero, and the President wants to present him with a medal for heroism. Terrorist concerns take a back seat to the ceremony. While en route to Washington, it becomes clear John is going to be an unwilling accomplice in the achievement of a terrorist plan to destroy America’s economy.
If you have interest I would ask three things:
1 Send an email to johnhowell (dot) wave (at) gmail (dot) com
2 You will need to tell me the format you want. (mobi, pdf, word).
3 Once I receive the e-mail I will confirm and lay out a couple of questions that I would have for you to answer.
Thank you in advance.

When would you need it read by? Want to help, but my snail speed reading tends to be a problem for being a beta.

I would hope six weeks. I understand your issues and I think you should pass.

Sorry about that. I really need to work on that issue. Honestly, the last time I picked up my Kindle, I had to wipe dust off it. And I wish I was joking on that one.
Hopefully the book comes out soon because it’s on my list to boost to the top of the list once I get it.

Oh John, i’m so sorry they’re leaving you hanging. It’s another of the “horror” stories i keep hearing from traditionally published authors. It seems such a dream come true for someone to want to publish your work, and then… it just doesn’t progress to the bookstore shelves. I’d be “in a state” to say the least. You seem to be handling it well though. Wishing you all the best with books 2 and 3.
Mega hugs.

I can do a beta read. But it will likely be a slow one also as I am in the throes of writing. You have my email. Send along a .mobi file. I’ll sen along a list chapter by chapter.

I just bought the first one, and would prefer to read it first. It probably isn’t necessary, but I’m quirky that way. I’ll get My GRL read and reviewed this summer though.

How sad you’re stuck in limbo! I understand that sort of thing happens sometimes, and I wish you the very best for forward motion from here. I’d love to read your second installment, but I’m up to my ears writing my own novel, so — time being what it is — I can ill afford to break away. Hope you understand!

Sorry to hear about the state of affairs with your publisher, John. I loved the first book and can’t wait to read the second, but fear I wouldn’t be able to get you feedback in a timely manner. I know you have a legion of fans though, so I don’t imagine you will have any problems filling the spots. I wish you luck!

Publishing is such a mystery! I’d love to read your book sooner rather than later but I’m caught up in writing a couple of novels myself at the moment – hence why I haven’t been as visible on blogs of late – and I also just got a contract from a publisher for my horror trilogy so I’m going to be caught up in the proofing and revisions etc for that too when their timetable demands (which I’m not sure of either at the moment, as I said, its all a bit mysterious).
If you don’t get the numbers you need though let me know – you have my email I think? 🙂

John…hope this situation clears up for you sooner rather than later. Great first book and I have been looking forward to the sequel. Unlike some of the other folks…man, have I got some time on my hands these days🐳
