Thursday – A Little Personal

His Revenge front final

For those who wonder, I have a small update on the progress of my venture into the world of self-publishing. So far, notwithstanding the fact I have no hair, I think things are going well. I have been successful in setting up the print version of His Revenge, and the e-book is also ready to go. The imprint of His Revenge is my new publishing company Keewaydin Lane Books. Also not sure I made the right choice but I have signed up for KDP Select for Ninety days. It really  means I have to stay with Kindle for the time being. I can go after the 90 days to the other e-book formats if not satisfied.

The only thing holding up publication is I’m waiting for a copy of the book so I can do a physical check on whether the real thing looks like its digital doppelgänger. It is due to be delivered tomorrow. Once confirmed then it is a ready-set-go situation. Before launch, I will be setting up all the various places to announce the book.

I have planned to launch on November 2nd and so far have a bunch of delightful folks who have volunteered plus some guest blog appearances. There have been more interested in helping, but I haven’t received an e-mail. If I don’t get the e-mail, then I suppose a reblog will work. Thank you all.

  1. Much as I resent monumental monopolies I’d never yet sold an eBook anywhere else but Amazon and so, with it’s global reach and commission advantages, I’ve bitten the bullet and put all my titles on KDP Select now. It just makes it so much more manageable… 😦

Print is another deal altogether – I use Lightning Source/Ingram Spark as their products are really great quality, and their POD deal is really simple to set up and stretches much further than that big ole river and out into the ‘real’ world of bricks and mortar stores so you have the best of all words! ;-).

    1. Thanks, Jan. The Ingram listing comes with the river as well but maybe the alternative is more effective. I’ll check it out on the next book. (should have talked to you earlier)

      1. Ingrams are the top print publication distributor in the world so, in the ‘physical’ book world, they’re actually bigger than that darned River as they service them and just about everyone else!

With the first novel I produced, I was so pleased with Lightning Source (Ingrams POD sub-company) I went and loaded up the eBook with them, only to find that they didn’t launch it on the River at all… Durrr! I should have worked that one out myself, but it was my 1st time! lol To be fair they DID get it out just about everywhere else – except Barnes & Noble & Kobo… but like I said I’ve only ever sold eReader versions down that River 😀
