Sunday – Fifty-Two Views of the Gulf #JusJoJan

IMG_1317

As you can see the weather is a little more sane. This shot shows a couple of things. 1. The sun is out and has left a little glare in the camera lens. 2. The walkover is gone and in addition, the left-hand side of the dune has been carved out to make room for the walkway. You can see the tracks of the front loader. That stake in the middle marks the middle of the new walkway. The next photo was taken a couple of days ago showing the walkway gone.

IMG_1314

This was before the front loader work on the dune. You can see what a front loader does to a vinyl walkover, though.

IMG_0936

Now you have an idea of the work done by the frontloader. Way on the left is the original walkover site.

Last week’s photo.

Looks like you have an orb in that first picture. I’ve been reading lots about them recently.

Yes it is a “glare orb.” Totally an illusion. Thanks,

Happy Sunday John. It’s interesting to see their progress. You mentioned the “original” location. Will the new one be in a different spot? Those loaders are powerful machines. Suddenly I have happy visions of chasing a couple of people (who shall remain nameless) with one. 😈 😀
    Mega hugs!

The walkway will start out at the furthest part from the Gulf at the original location and then take a jog to avoid cutting the dune. It will come out on the beach near the original location but will also have a ramp to the right.

Wow! Demolition is always impressive, but… Man! lol Hopefully Mother Nature will take some action in softening the ‘flat earth’ concept pretty soon, to help blend in the new walkway when they start work on it 😀

This dune in man made and the first line of defense. There is another behind it. The flat Earth and walkway will blend into the scene. The walkway will be natural wood. (BTW I couldn’t comment on the SA post this AM. Is there a comment section I missed?

Funny how this was going to be about how the one spot changes over the course of a year and this happens. Kind of makes one think about human influence on the environment versus that of nature. So the new walkway is going to be longer?

Longer, wider, higher. It will be an Edifice Rex.

Wow. There’s actually a minor superhero in Marvel comics with the new Edifice Rex. Did not expect that.

I was thinking of Oedipus. Though I was wondering if it was an actual thing that you saw online.

Ah, for sunshine like that! We’re grey with spitting snow and howling winds — a good day for staying inside. How long do they anticipate this remodel will take, John?

I think it will be about six weeks or so. Real hard to get to the water so I hope its earlier.

I think so. It will have a dark hue since it needs to be protected with weather resistant stain.

Love the first picture … a little late because I’ve been contemplating much the past few days (and nope – not avoiding you). 😉 … You know that on Sunday I told you that there is a lot of blame to go around, so yesterday afternoon I started writing to throw a post together. It’s up.

Thanks for coming over. This entire incident still festers in my mind – as it does to many in this city – but much more deeply than just playing a game of pointing fingers to the other guy. Thanks for your generosity.

Yeah. You have ignore those types. What is needed is a serious NFL executive to lay down the rules and what will happen if they are violated by players and coaches. The NFL commissioner is a lackey for the owners.

No kidding about the Commissioner, which is true in all sports. Meanwhile, the commenter thinks the city should be punished by forcing the Bengals to play two home games in an empty stadium.
