Friday JohnKu – AKA – TGIF

TGIFFriday is here again.Woo Woo. This week saw the arrival of two things. 1. My manuscript for the final book in the John J. Cannon Trilogy

1. My manuscript for the final book in the John J. Cannon Trilogy Our Justice came back from the editor. The final edit is now in process and once I’m finished it will go back for one more  review and then off to formatting. I say that like I have a department that does the formatting work. No, I have learned to do it myself. So after the final review, I will be sweating over a hot keyboard doing the print and e-book versions.

2. My cover for Our Justice is also finished. I got the final version from the talented graphic designer and I am very pleased. The cover shows John Cannon as I have always pictured him. I will be having a cover reveal when I get a little closer to the date of publication. I am shooting for July so it is not too far away.

Today’s JohnKu talks about seeing your hard work finally coming to a conclusion . I hope you like it.

The effort was hard,

The results took longer. . .

Glorious final.

Want to figure out the right time. Still don’t have the promo stuff down.

The system is always changing. Though summer tends to be rough. Maybe wait for the big release in August/September? Although, you could set up a pre-order to do your promoting through the summer.

I just may. Pre order at the lowest price is where my head is right now.

Just remember that you can’t change anything within 10 days of the release date. Learned that the hard way.

Great news, John! And perfect for capping off the work week. I like what Jill said above. Yes, this was a short week but it felt long. I was on vacation all last week, in San Francisco, a whirlwind of activity that I’m still recovering from. I’ve been really dragging my butt this week 😉 Plus, it’s in the mid-90s here and in San Francisco it was around mid-60s. Guess which I prefer 😉 Have a wonderful weekend, John!

Thanks, Marie. Have a good weekend as well. I used to live in the Bay area (Sonoma) and know all about the weather there. 50’s every night. *sigh* 🙂

What an exciting way to kick off your weekend, John — I admire your persistence and grit. It’s hard enough just writing the book, but when you consider all the rest of the things associated with it (marketing, choosing cover design, proofing, etc.), it’s almost overwhelming! Enjoy your weekend!

Congratulations John. What a glorious Friday it is. I remember you mentioning previously that you did your own formatting. It should be easier this time around. Have a good weekend.

It wasn’t a criticism, I just thought I’d misunderstood the oeuvre.

I understood that you weren’t being critical. I appreciated the catch. I am normally pretty particular and don’t know how that one snuck in. I think in a draft I had an expanded version which should have been cut down to 5-7-5 but I forgot. I still say thank you.
