Friday John Ku – AKA – Black Friday

Black Friday

Well, here we are on Black Friday. Since most of the working folks have been off since yesterday, the day has new meaning.  It is our civic duty to get out there and spend till we drop. Never mind the lines, the crowds, surly clerks, fistfights, and mayhem. WE CAN SAVE SOME BUCKS TODAY. Isn’t that what it is all about? (What? You say Black Friday has been running all month? I say so what. Get out there and duke it up.) Today’s John Ku talks about tradition.

Thanks the day before,

Armor and mace for today . . .

Love our traditions.

  1. “Armor and mace” is right! LOL. I guess I’m not much of a traditionalist any more. I think I only just realized how big the NOT in it is… Go ahead and armor up John. I only shop online. 😎 Wishing you bargains galore and a fabulous Friday. Mega hugs.

    1. I’m not going. I have my shopping done. Like you, I do it on line. Hugs, Teagan.

  2. My tradition is “give money”. That’s truly the gift that keeps giving. Of course, in India, it’s hard to give even that these days. I love the picture. Hilarious, John. 😀 — Suzanne

    1. Thanks, Suzanne. Money is good.

  3. I’ve never been a Black Friday shopper. No TV, etc. is worth getting trampled…people are crazy! A quiet day at home is our tradition. Enjoy the day, John!

    1. Me too! Enjoy, Jill.

  4. Good luck. I’m just going to stay far away from any malls and retail stores. 😉

    1. Good idea. Thanks, Charles I’ll follow your advice.

      1. There’s always CyberMonday. 😀

  5. Proudly skipping this tradition, John. I prefer laying around and picking on leftovers.

    1. I know what you mean, Dan. Thanks.

  6. I only went one time and once was enough! Never again!! Nope! Today is work day for me and I’m going to make a dent in it come hell or high water!

    1. You go with the dent making. I’m behind you all the way. *oh look a special price* 🙂

  7. Happily watching the kiddo while the wife and her mom battle the hordes. Have a great weekend, John.

    1. Good old Angus. Lucky you. ;-D

  8. Yes, Black Friday has quite the reputation, doesn’t it?

    1. It does. All not good. 😀

  9. So true. I’m ushering my crowd out the door as I type this.

    1. You will have peace and quiet today. 😀

      1. Yup. I started reading a book. I may dabble in a short story. It’s great.

  10. I hate crowds as much as shopping. I give money and wash my hands.
    No tradition for me. o_O

    1. ha ha ha. Good thing on the hand wash given al the germs on money. 😀

  11. Absolutely love this Johnku today! I hear the crowds are much smaller than usual – lots of online shopping, I’ll bet!

    1. Don’t know. There are the same numbers in my house and I’m not leaving. 😀

  12. I have to confess – I loved the South Park take on it. All my Black Fridays are virtual – no malls for me! 😉

    1. Me either. Keyboard mayhem

  13. Black Friday is over here too now John. We have you guys to blame for that. Have a good weekend.

    1. Don’t forget to blame us for KFC, McDonalds, Taco Bell and all manner of evil. Aren’t you glad we revolted (Of are revoting) Have a great weekend, Guy. 😀

      1. KFC & McDonalds yes, but for better or worse Taco Bell is yet to get a foothold on these shores.

      2. Gee. You aren’t missing much. 😀

  14. Amen, John! And ’tis so much easier to shop online — no crowds, free shipping (if you play it right), and you’re sitting at your computer anyway!!

  15. A fitting compare and contrast … and I stayed away from shopping areas as much as possible!

    1. Me too! Cant stand crowds. 😀

  16. All my Christmas shopping is done from my computer – saves time and sanity. UPS guy and I are on a first name basis.

    1. Larry is ours. 😀
