Thursday – A Little Personal – Lucy and Twiggy Play Tag

Twiggy and Lucy

“Hey, Lucy…. LUCY.”

“Huh? I was looking at that bumblebee.”

“You want to play tag?”

“We always play tag. How about another game?”

“Ha. You’re it.”

“Oof. My goodness kid.”

“Can’t catch me.”

“I’m still trying to catch my breath.”

“Okay. I’ll wait for you.”

“You are so kind, Little one.”

“OMG for a big moose you sure are fast.”

“They called me the freight train at the shelter.”

“Shelter? You are a rescue, Lucy?”

“Yes, Little One. My old family didn’t want me anymore.”

“Oh gosh. Who wouldn’t want you, big sister.”

“Well let’s just say, some folks deserve to be alone. Now, you are it.”

Ditto on the comments from Charles and Jill! Well done in sending a deep message through a light hearted tale. By the way, I love the big spot on Lucy´s back. I never noticed it before. She´ll never get lost in a crowd (smile). Happy Thursday, John!

    Boss,

    Well done!

Rescue family members are always the addition of someone else’s subtraction. And the math is always kinder and better spent by those who add them. 🙂

That was great, John… and rescue animals are the ones who end up with the most love because they are wanted and chosen, in the end.

“Freight train” made me laugh. I’d say that’s just right — except her stopping distance is shorter than a freight train’s.

How could they not want Lucy anymore? Just breaks my heart. Our rescue cat was a ‘return’ – which turned out to be lucky for all of us.

Lucy’s case was not good. She was turned out and eventually hit by a car. Knowing Lucy she was frightend out of her mind and didn’t know about traffic. All that is behind her and for the last seven years she has lived the life of a princess. It does break the heart when you think of others out there. I’ll get off my box now. Thanks for listening. 📦

That broke my heart about Lucy. Of course, if not for that family, she wouldn’t have found the wonderful home she has now with you.
BTW, I just love the brown spot on her back. 🙂

We call one of our dogs a big moose, too. And he probably is a freight train, though I never thought to call him that. I can’t believe someone didn’t want Lucy. But I believe all things happen for a reason, and you are the reason. She was meant to be with you, and I’m so glad you found each other.

We are so glad as well. Thank you, Staci. A small story. When my wife went to look at possible adoptions, Lucy would not let her leave. My wife took her for a walk and when it was time for her to go back she refused to leave her side. That was it. She came home that day.

life without puppies (my term for all d-o-g-s) would be, well, I never want to experience life without puppies. I was devastated when SydneePee passed – I could not breathe or think or anything for that matter. Finding IssiBee was exactly what the heart ordered. I still sleep with Synee’s pillow and her ashes by my bedside, but Issi is a true gift. Its as if she has been here all along…..a perfect fit. We could not imagine life without her:)
