Friday JohnKu – AKA – TGIF

TGIF

Today is Friday. Hold on. If that is news to anyone it is definitely time for a relook at your priorities. Yes, it is the last workday of the week. Yahoo. Always nice to recognize Friday.

This week has been pretty typical. I managed to meet my 1000 word a day goal and now my WIP stands at above 89,000. If I do seven more thousand next week the first draft will be done and total 96,000 words. Of course, the conclusion could come crashing in at fewer words but either way it will be done next week. (God willing and the creek don’t rise.)

Then the editing and rewrite will begin at the expense of the few hairs I have left.

I spent some time this week on Amazon ads. There was a weeklong workshop in which I participated. It was informative and gave me some pretty good ideas about Amazon advertising. I have vowed to conquer this beast or die trying. We’ll see how it goes.

I raised some concern about views and the need to maybe change some things on the blog. I took a look this week at visits to my blog in contrast to just looking at views and for the most part the visits are pretty consistant. Long story short I’m going to leave the format alone but continue to keep monatoring.

Today’s JohnKu talks about continued review of our chosen path to make certain it is still relevant. I hope you have a great weekend.

The path well travelled,

Should be evaluated . . .

So you won’t get lost.

  3. Congratulations on meeting your word count. Another week at this pace is a light at the end of the tunnel. I’m glad you’re not yet making format changes to your blog. That felt like a hasty decision. Great JohnKu, and Happy Friday.

  4. Handling a blog, keeping up with an on-line workshop, and still getting your 1,000 quota done shows amazing concentration and dedication, John!
(psst – are you still married? 🙂 )

    1. Hahaha. Thanks, GP. Yes, still married. I manage to carve out some honey-do list time as well as personal interface. The nice thing is my wife can only take brief moments of me so busy is good. It’s worked for thirty years.

  7. Neat trick with the Johnku — who could imagine getting lost on the well-traveled path? But we all do it, from time to time.

  9. As in the wild, it’s never a bad thing when you’re sharpening your teeth. And the blogosphere is kind of like the wild. Except bloggers don’t eat each other . . usually not.

  16. That is one downside to moving the workplace home–Friday becomes Anyday. But I’ll still take it. Great progress on your next book. And I look forward to reading about the Amazon ads. I had no luck with them.

  17. I don’t know how you do it. to be honest. Retired or not! 1000 words per day, daily blog post, walks about town, participating in Amazon Ad Workshops and who know what else.
    And worrying about your stats…
    You are fierce.

      2. When my wife and I first got together she asked me if I ever stopped and just relaxed. I think she said I resemble a shark and need to keep moving to breathe. I told her it was a good analogy. 😁 That was 30 years ago.
