It was a rainy day yesterday, so today’s Views had to be something I more or less put together in the rain. I hope you brought your umbrella.
I was going to do a feature on some unusual garden things. I got the first shot, and then, ,the rain came down in buckets. I thought this one was unusual. A pig, some ducks, and an armadillo on the mailbox.
I took a shot of the lake to show you how drizzly it was out here.
Twiggy was along for the walk but seemed to be focused on the puddles. Yes, she loved the rain on a leash. In the backyard, not so much.
Some peacock orchids in bloom
Another mother of all cactus.
A little bit of road work going on. This one is for Dan.
A stream that was a trickle before the rain.
This creek was running higher earlier in the day. All the sticks and leaves were left on high ground when the water receded.
A shot of wet leaves. (I know, I know. Getting desperate.)
The two players are still at it in the rain. This sculpture is named The Game.
A reminder to stay home. By the way, I saw no one while taking photos.
Well, there you have it. I hope you didn’t get too wet or bored. (Hey you wake up) Have a great week.
A walk is always welcome, even in the rain. Take care and stay safe.

We’ve had a lot of rain these last few days and during the pauses the robins are active. Their delight becomes our own. I love the sculpture of The Game – extraordinary.

Thank you, Gwen. We are seeing hummingbirds now. There was also a hawk sitting on a street sign but he wouldn’t wait for me to get close enough. He looked pretty wet and grumpy. Probabily needed some coffee.

That looks like a big downpour. Miss seeing that happen around a lake. Rain in that type of area was always a little soothing.

We had three inches in twenty-four hours. The heavy rain came down in like an hour then steady the rest of the day. Thanks, Charles.

I remember those types of storms from Florida. Not fun to be out in them.

Good pictures, John. That’s the only way I can go outside. I see you’re helping Twiggy walk off some of her extra energy. š — Suzanne

Thanks for braving the foul weather for us, John and thanks for the construction equipment photo. I’m with Twiggy, I love the puddles. It’s good to see so much green. We’re still mostly brown here.

Thanks, Dan. Yes it is really getting green here. The rain is helping too. š

I especially enjoyed seeing those big cacti, and the sculpture of the chess players. I’ve known a few chess players who can hold a pose like that almost as long as the sculptures. It rained here all day yesterday, too, and it’s quite cool, but it looks like it’s going to be a good day to be outdoors. Who knows? I might clean the patio!

We have been waiting for the yellow dust from the oaks to stop. Then we will clean our patio. Maybe the rain has helped.

I also went for a rainy walk that day. Luckily I took my gloves along…so cold!

We’re already being warned those warm, wet days are going to result in massive mosquito populations, John. If the coronavirus isn’t enough to keep us indoors, those hungry skeeters will be! Enjoyed the rainy walk, especially since Twiggy was along to remind us that sometimes, puddles outside our own yard can be interesting things!

She would love to jump into them too. Yes, the mosquito hordes are going to desend.

John, you made the most of a rainy day. Thanks for another lovely stroll. I loved the shots of the stream and creek. I’m captivated by the green pig! Deme and Honeybell are fascinated by this green cousin. Maybe he has some frog DNA… A hopping pig. Hugs on the wing.

Good morning, John,
we had a rainy day, too. But contrary to you, I did not go out. So, no pictures from here. The night before, btw, we got 2,5″. A wonderfully beneficial rain, during the night and during the day. Today it’s overcast and there may be some more rain in the offing. Let’s just see.
Take care, and stay well,
Pit

Thanks for the views, John! It’s funny that Twiggy doesn’t mind the rain on a leash, but not so much in the backyard. š

I know right. Go figure. Also on a leash se doesn’t mind the cold. Below 40 degrees and you have to shove her off the porch. A leash she’s ready to go.

I enjoyed the walk … especially enjoyed seeing Twiggy, the flowers, the greener and the critters by the mailbox (I thought the pig was a frog on first glance). But, I have to ask … why are they building a whole road for Dan?

Cause Dan is a very careless driver and he needs a lot of space. Hahahahah.

Love The Game sculpture. As for the PSA’s that are everywhere advising us to stay inside, keep our social distance and to remember the “5”? . . . very dystopian society feeling to me.

Yes. What we need is loudspeakers floating in the air shouting for us all to stay inside. A riff of Bladerunner.
